FSW Spring 2018

Published

It's a bit early, I know. I just wanted to start a thread for all of those looking down the road planning to apply to FSW this fall for the spring 2018 program start..

I'm planning on applying to the Charlotte campus for the Evening/Weekend (ANEW) schedule format.

What campus are you planning on applying to?

What classes are you trying to finish up before applying in Sept/Oct?

What program schedule format will you be choosing (Daytime or evening/weekend)?

Did you take the TEAS VI exam and how did you do?

I look forward to the discussion over the next few months!!

Annna, since you're in the traditional do you have a regular backpack or rolling backpack? Or you just took the books you needed for the class you were going too?

Oh no supplies. Just bring pen, paper & your lunch. It's honestly like orientation, because they talk the entire time. They also give you a chance to meet your classmates. Yes, I'm in the traditional program. The beginning isn't too bad... it's all about time management & getting the hang of the style of questions on the test.

I got another question. Considering the first day is paperwork, do you think we could possibly purchase our ATI bundle from the bookstore that day when we take a break? Or is it required before the first day? Like did anyone come to class and ended up not having the bundle purchased?

Yes, you can purchase the ATI on the first day of class. I think I purchased mine the first week.

I wanted a rolling bag, but I have a regular bag. Only a few students have rolling bags. I usually carry the books I need only, but sometimes you need both books. We had access to the computers so some people used the EText, but I used both. I would bring one book to class & access the other online. It's honestly what works for you. I personally don't like having to carry both books.

Thank you so much. We got two weeks and just trying to make sure. So yeah I'll purchase mine on the 20th then. Also, did anybody get nursing cheat sheets, nursing pocket guides or the nursing report | brain sheets to help them with their studying?

Do you'll get badges the first day or first week? I need to retake my picture on my buc card

Within the first month of classes. There should've been an item on the checklist from when you got accepted into the program, and that item would tell you by what day you needed to have a BUC ID done. They print the badges right after that day, so your nursing student ID may be ready at this point. That being said, you will most likely get a new set of IDs for the hospitals where you do clinicals for Level 2 and beyond. Your best bet is to check with your advisor for your specific campus and see if the student IDs were printed or not.

Have you gotten all your books back yet?|

Gotcha, well talk your advisor and see if they've printed the ID yet. If not, you can get the picture retaken. Yes, I've gotten all the books back :)

I received the RNnotes pocket reference as a gift which I think is pretty cool. It would be kind of bulky to carry around in the hospital but I do keep it in my clinicals bag since it is a great reference for labs/assessments/procedures/etc.

So you have a clinicals bag? What type of bag is it? I need to invest in me one. Also, YIKES I just received the syllabus and all the classes with the due dates. It seems overwhelming I guess we have to flow into it. I don't think it will be that bad. After all everyone here had a great semester last semester. I'm scared and excited. Day 1. When are you'll on campus?
