FSW spring 2017

Published

Anybody applying for the nursing program at FSW for the spring in 2017? I plan to take my TEAS sometime August or September, does anyone know what the passing score is? And have you finished all your prerequisites and general ed? The only prereqs I have left to do is A&P2, nutrition, and micro. But still have all the general eds left to do. But you don't have to have all the general eds finished before applying right? Sorry, I'm new at this.

Thank you so much for explaining, I read your other post but I guess was congused with some things. I'm just really nervous thinking I'm getting my hopes up and then someone's gonna be better than me in the interview or something and then I gonna get declined. So it sounds like you're saying that basically if you got passed round one you're kinda in the clear, right?

You're welcome! I'm happy to try and help :) From everything I have been told and read from previous semesters that posed on here, yes. Getting that email means you have a seat as long as you pass the screens. I really think the interview is just a formality and will not be used to decide who gets in. Maybe if it were a semester like this Fall, which had over 300 applicants. In that case I can see them needing something to be a "tie-breaker" if they had a lot of close points competing for seats.

I know it's really hard to not be nervous! I'm still in disbelief that the wait is over and we got our emails. If you still don't feel good about it then maybe calling is what will help put your mind at ease. My opinion is you are in and you should exhale and do your happy dance!

I had a friend a few years ago that did not get in right away but got a call two weeks before the program's start saying if she can get everything in before the start, she has a spot. So I assume that is either someone didn't pass their screenings or that they backed out.

I do know someone who did get a "regret" letter this semester and it basically said they were not "competitive" but I am sure they are on the wait list. Their grades are near perfect but scored 73 on Teas and did not have all pre-reqs.

If you read our acceptance letters, the wording at the end is "Candidates who meet all admission criteria will be selected by the Admission Committee for full admission to the Nursing Program. "

So just make sure you get your screenings done and in on time and we should be fine.

Do you have an idea how many days we are going to be at school? trying to figure out the days i can be at work

If you google "Fsw course search" and search for the nursing classes it'll tell you the days you can choose from from the classes we have to take

Hello everyone, I have also just passed phase 1 for the collier campus! Congrats to all!

Awesome! Finally someone else on here going to Collier lol. We'll be classmates!

Good to know (:

Finished my fingerprinting and drug test today! Does anyone know if we need to upload our anything or does UPS and Labcorp send the info to castle branch?

I think we need to upload the dates. But the results, I believe are sent by Labcorp and UPS.

Did you schedule your Drug test or just go in? I am scheduled for my fingerprinting Tuesday. Every time I call to see if I need to schedule it or just walk in, I get interrupted at work :/

You don't need to schedule your drug test, you can just walk in :)
