FSW Fall 2015

Published

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

When did we do orientations?

The nursing orientation's.. Had to take them prior to putting in your applications

Are there any new additions to the thread that are going to Charlotte? :)

We already did the orientations, waiting for the emails, stating to wait and watch the mail for our acceptance packets. Cant wait for the degree evaluation to change from Pre Nursing to Nursing, so i can officially registar for my classes

Yes, there was a general orientation for the nursing program but I am talking about the actual nursing program orientation, which from what I hear, will unfortunately be online this year... The orientation is for all of the students that were accepted into the fall program. I have a really good friend who is going to be a second year nursing student this Fall. She is the one who told me it will be online this year because the program got a new director. :) BTW... I think we have had a couple classes together too Kat! Micro Lab and Nutrition! I sat at the same lab table as you on the other side opposite end! Congrats on getting in!!!! :)

I thought they were going to register for us?

Specializes in Cardiac PCU/Med-Telemetry.

They actually changed the times so now

Part time Schedule is

NUR 1511 Introduction to Mental Health Concepts in Nursing (Mon or Wed 5:30-6:30pm)

NUR 2140 Pharmacology for Nurses (Tues 8-10pm)

NUR 1060 Health Assessment (Tues 5:30-7:30pm)

NUR 1060L Health Assessment Lab (Mon or Wed 6:35-9:35pm)

So for us part time it is 2 nights a week.

Btw, Tori we do pick our classes however its clinical we don't have a choice unless someone trades with you.

I finally have everything with a complete and a 'yes', so hopefully they send out information soon.

As for the nursing orientation prior to submitting applications, we did not have to do this orientation. I did not attend an orientation and I was accepted. I imagine they will have one for those who have been accepted, whether it be online or in-person. I wonder when they will open up classes for registration.

Did you get the Nursing Powerpoint?

Did you get the Nursing Powerpoint?

What powepoint?

Mamiluv sent me one a while ago. Just wanna make sure it's the same thing.

Whats the powerpoint for?

The powerpoint replaced the pre-nursing orientation that used to be required.

Can we register for classes or do we have to wait? I'm not sure what the next step is.
