FSW Fall 2015

Published

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

We can't register yet. We are still locked out (I just tried and it still says "Field of Study Restriction"). I think we have to wait for our packet for instructions. Maybe they will send us an email telling us when the packets are sent. I'm not sure.

How did you get the powerpoint?

If we did the orientation, do we need to look at the powerpoint?

Also, someone mentioned that their degree says non&seeking, mine still says pre-nursing. Kinda confused with that

Cant remember which one you are, lol, your photo doesnt help me with that either....whats your name?

I called the nursing department (this was before I applied) and asked them about the Pre-nursing Information sessions that they schedule. Wendy Morris (the staff assistant on Charlotte campus) sent the powerpoint to me in an email and told me the "Information Sessions" were no longer required. I didn't know about the requirement to begin with. I can send it to you in an email if you like. I don't know if it's on the website or not. Most of it is about applying to the program, the different types of programs (FT, PT), the credit hours per semester, background check required.... I didn't get to go to an orientation, but now that we are in the program the powerpoint is pretty much old news.

Yep that pretty much covered it, lol. I know that the 1010 course use to be the basics of nursing (guessing like an orientation. It seems like 1023L kinda replaces that) but im just guessing. We will all know soon enough, at least before August (lol)

Congratulations to everyone! I am still in shock I was accepted into the Lee P/T Evening Program (my 1st choice). I see a few of you will be in the same...and I look forward to meeting you. : )

Kat my degree stills say pre-nursing as well. And about powerpoint and orientation, it was very basic and old news for us, as lilnurse mentioned.
