Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.
Who is joining me next fall in nursing?
I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.
I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.
Spoke to Charlotte Nursing advisor. She said that we need to get the influenza shot when it is in season (Sept-Nov) until then we may not find any. The hospitals usually require and they will check up on us closer to the season for the shots. Yes, it is in the handbook, but it is seasonal, so don't sweat it as bad!

Thats good news because everyone I spoke with said end of Aug to early Sept they get it in.
Thanks so much Kat. So I don't have to pay for titers? Hope that's the case.
She said they will accept your insurance, so no you wont have to pay...however, if you have a copay then yes you will have to pay that, but she said she would just bill you (for me) you wont have to pay up front..(ask for Donna, and tell her you are katryna's friend from the FSW RN program).i figured it would be covered because your doctor wrote the script! The quest my people are at are off cape coral pkwy next to winn dixi.....
Hope that helps out!!
I asked specifically about the varicella titer only...thats the only one you have a script for right? And the only one you need?

Ok thanks so much girl.
I have a script for all my titers in one just in case. However, I am only getting varicella. I have both my MMR shots and all 3 Heb B so no need to waste money. Plus I have I document from prenatal labs saying I am immune to rubella which is what they look for more. I don't have varicella vaccines or else I wouldn't need titer. Argg...

Well hopefully theres no copay! Good luck
I feel like a baby. Why does Dtap hurt so much? My arm and shoulder hurt so much right now that I can't even lift it without pain.
I told you it hurt....i couldnt even sleep on that side, couldnt lean against any walls....and it got worse on day 2 and 3 then finally started feeling ok again...still a bit tender....then to top it off, i had the influenza on the opposite arm, so i couldnt lay on that one either, i ended up with a fever and still have it 4 or 5 days later, and i had an extreme reaction to the ppd, but thankfully it was just a bad reaction and not positive...no more future tests for me! Just gotta have dr sign paper and get xrays every few years...not yearly, ya!
