FSCJ Summer 2017 Hopefuls

Published

I wanted to create a new thread for Summer 2017 hopefuls (it seems far away, but it will be here before we know it).

I am very excited to start this journey, but I have to finish a few more prereqs. I am wanting to buy a HESI A2 study book, but I am not sure which one to go with. Does anyone have any suggestions? I saw on one thread where a lady swore by Elsevier, but I want to make sure that is a good one before I buy it. Thanks in advance.

Do we need chemistry to apply for Summer 2017. I am worried that I can't take that over the summer or maybe I can. Also can someone email me a packet at [email protected]. Has anyone taken chemistry online without any experience in chemistry? Should I take chemistry online because I work full time.

I emailed you the packet. Micro is the only class that doesn't have to be completed before the application date (chemistry is a prereq for Micro). So, no, you don't have to take it right away; however, it has to be done and Micro before the program begins.

I am currently taking chemistry online with Alex Kajstura (spelling might be wrong). I don't have any experience and it is going good. I work full time, so online is always the best option for me.

I'm taking chemistry this summer as well. But I'm taking it at Kent. Also I have my cna test in a month, I'm pretty confident for the clinicals part, but is there any websites anyone knows about that can help me for the written portion of the exam?

J.molina, I just got my testing date for my CNA exam as well- April 21st! Wish me luck guys haha I'm super nervous about the clinical skills portion but I'm about to start studying my butt off. Someone told me that quizlet really helped them with the written portion.

Thanks I'll check it out! Good luck

No problem. Good luck to you as well. Did you just keep rewarding the videos and go over the check lists for the clinical skill portion?

Well I already took the class, plus a refresher course since I didnt take the exam, so ive gone over it a lot. I'm not worried about the clinical so much because im more of a visual learner. But when it comes to tests, im not so good

btw does anyone know what a competitive amount of points would be? Ive read different numbers from 180, to needing at least 200

Alright thanks! I'll be signing up for a refresher course as well.

i think anything above 190 is good, and pretty much guarantees a slot in the program. I believe the cut off score for summer 2016 was 186.9

I was wondering if you need to need to pass both the lecture and the lab for microbiology. I am struggling in lab because his test questions are not based on handouts and notes. I know I can pass the lecture. It is a combination of grades for lab and lecture? or are they separate grades?

It is a combination of grades. If it's like UNF, 75% lecture, 25% lab. That's how it was from my class anyways
