Is there anyone planning to apply for FSCJ's Summer 2011 RN program? I am taking A&PI and II next semester with Human Growth and Dev. and Sociology, then I'll apply. I am taking Microbiology during the spring prior to going into the program. I am taking the Nat in September after Chem 1032. What about you?
Cami09Me toooo! I am just tooooo anxious and today was only day one of the waiting game........ I was just looking through the summer of 2010's thread also. They got thiers around the 10th or so if they were accepted. I saw that the summer of 2009 the cut off was 190. something... The points are just getting higher and higher! One of my classmates and his wife applied with 240 and 230 points for this summer term. They both had years of experience in the medical field that they recvd points for...
WOW!!!!!240 points is amazing! Wish I had that type of security! The cut off does seem to keep getting higher and higher!
I just heard back from the FSCJ nursing administrator who says, and I quote "we take a couple of students from other counties". Gee, not very encouraging to take a COUPLE out of 160! I hope you all live in Duval, I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed for UNF or SJRCC! Good luck to you all!
Well, the way SJRCC does it is they award 10 points to those from St. Johns County. This still gives candidates from other counties a chance.
I think that both schools, since they claim they are now "state" colleges, need to do away with this community-based requirment and act like a state college....maybe they will eventually!
Im all for the county based requirements. It is florida state college of jacksonville so i think its very fair that they only take jacksonville students. If everyone in the state was allowed to apply, jacksonville students wouldnt stand a chance, and some would even be run out of their own city just to find a school. BUT, I understand where youre coming from. this is just my opinion

DynamicR, your points are good... so let's just hope that you get in for Summer! You could always take the chem with the lab this semester. You will need it in the future if you plan on getting your Bachelors. I thought about taking it this semester, just in case. However, I wanted to take a break before we got thrown into the craziness that is the nursing program!
