FSCJ Summer 2011 Hopefuls

Published

Is there anyone planning to apply for FSCJ's Summer 2011 RN program? I am taking A&PI and II next semester with Human Growth and Dev. and Sociology, then I'll apply. I am taking Microbiology during the spring prior to going into the program. I am taking the Nat in September after Chem 1032. What about you?

There are 96 seats to be filled for the summer 2011 program and I think 160 applied.

How do you now how many applied?

There are 96 seats to be filled for the summer 2011 program and I think 160 applied.

How do you know this? That number is less than I thought it was going to be for number of people applying. I guess more people apply for the fall?

WHATTTTT!!! WOOWWW! That is the GREATEST INFORMATION EVER! LOL! :) Thank you so much for that! I just turned my aaplication in Friday because I retook the NAT I scored about 15 points higher than last time in my Natural Sciences area which was the area I did not do good in back in October, I have 195.2 points! I am very excited! At first I calculated my points all wrong back in October but I feel good about my 195. So, I have been stressin thinking about what was my next step if I did not get in to get more points and now I know! How do you go about getting a transient form from Columbia? Is it something that FSCJ gives you or they do? I thank you for this information, I always feel better when I have several other options lined up in case Plan A falls through. I will be graduating in May as well. Buit, I am kind of hestitant now, since I heard when you get an AA that puts you in the 150% Rule catergory...... as for as financial aid is concerned. How much were the classes at Columbia online?

Hey you get the transient form from fscj. I had to pay 50% of tuition upfront and fill out a financial aid consortium agreement form stating that I was a student of fscj transfering to Columbia for one term so I could be cover by finacial aid. Once the aid came it it covered both classes I took and I was reembersed my 50% I payed upfront. =) Good luck to u! Hope u get in the first time :nurse:

Hi Surftink,

I was the person who originally asked about retaking a class that you make a C in. Thanks for this info! I was just wondering do you have to contact Dr. H to have permission before requesting a transient form to transfer to Columbia College or can I just go to any campus and fill out the form?

I would contact ****** because he was the one to sign my transient form. They said it wouldn't have passed board if it didn't have a Dean's signiture on it. The actual form only asks for an advisor's name and campus but it should be signed by a dean to get approved. Once you contact him, sign your form, get it approved then you will recieve an authorization for transient study at another institution form. Once you have this form in hand bring it to Columbia along with your consortium form for financial aid. Be prepared to pay 50% of your tuition up front, but you will be reembersed when you get financial aid disbersement. For two classes my tuition was like $1,350. So basically $675 per class. There were some cheaper but it all depended on when and what you were taking. Hope this helps everyone! I went through hell and high water to do all of this stuff. IT felt like everyone at fscj was rooting against me, but HEY I did it =)

I read it on another post...that is why I put "I think"... The application information stated that Summer program has 96 seats....

I read it on another post...not sure but that is why I put "I think"!

That seems low doesn't it?

My friend contacted the nursing dept. and they said that they had 379 applicants. Not sure where you heard the 160, but that would make the cutoff pretty low.

379 sounds more like it, its usually a ridiculous amount for how many seats are avaliable

Hi All, This is my first time posting on Allnurses.com and have been following post for quite some time. What a great way to find out what is going on with other Summer hopefuls. I just dropped off my application last week and am anxiously waiting to hear. Does anyone know how the two year program works in terms of class schedules, times, days? I am aware that it starts in May but that is about it. Just wondering.....:confused

I read it on another post.....and I also said "I THINK" and "THAT SOUNDS LOW"
