FSCJ Summer 2011 Accepted!

Published

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to start a new thread since the last one was getting soooo long. I'm very excited! Who's with me?

Are there any veterans using their GI Bill?

My hubs is going to school with his righ now:D

I'm going to be using the new GI bill for nursing school. Is it definitely better than the old one?? Is he going full time? Is he a nursing student? :)

Hey left a message as well but then called back and instead of pressing the est. # just listen to the options and press one. You go straight to a real person! I just made mine, he said they do it four times a month and the next two are March 22nd @ st. Vincints and March 28th at St. Lukes. Both at 9 am. He said they alternate hospitals and also the fscj needs to change their flyer to $25.00. The class starts at 9 am and ends at noon. I signed up for the 22nd one. All you do is give him your name and he will tell you where to meet up at. You pay the day of. =) Hope this helps

Oh lord no, he's going for his AA degree right now. Yes the post 9-11 is so much better! Hes is going 3/4 time. But did you here that our lovely president (sarcasm) has changed it again, and now students have to go full time to get the full benefits. My husband was in the marines. What branch were you in?

Thanks Surftink, for the CPR info! I just called and signed up for the 22nd too! See you there :)

Yes, I heard that. :(((( I hope we remain full time students the entire course...do we? I was in the Air Force for 6 years! :) Is he only getting 3/4 E-5 BAH w/dep? I'm not sure how its going to work. I spoke with the VA office at north campus and they need a few docs (again) from me. I know with the old GI bill, it took a few months to get the ball rolling...I need it to kick in ASAP! This program is expensive! :\

no kiddos til april?! thats not good!! :(((:uhoh3:

we dont start school til May though:P i just realized this myself:) i'll be calling tomorrow to see about securing a spot for my lil guy! i'll share!

Right now we get 100% BAH for 3/4 time, but that will change in August. If he remains 3/4 time we will only get 80% of the BAH so He'll have to take another class if we want 100%. He was an E4 when he left but he was in Iraq ( i think that has something to do with it)

I think we drop down to 9 credit hours at some point in the program. Im gonna do some research. I also have to come up with some mulah too. It looks like I may get some Fin. Aid this year since I didnt work last year:D
