Published

Hi,

I'm starting this thread in hopes that other FSCJ Spring 2020 hopefuls will join in. Good luck to everyone applying come September.

@childofGodjesus it depend which prerequisite. There are mandatory prerequisites like anatomy 1 &2 and microbiology for example that they require to be completed prior to admission to the program. But for humanities and English for example you can be enrolled in the course but it has to be completed before you start the nursing term you applied for. I applied for spring 2020, and have everything completed but humanities. I am taking it in fall term C starting next month and I will be done in December just in time for spring term. I was able to apply, but I also am missing the points I could have gotten if i already had humanities completed. On the website it outlines these guidelines, I email the nursing counselors directly and they tend to respond pretty quickly if you have any other questions.

I don’t have Micro As I’m taking it right now and they said it was fine! They said A&Ps and Chem were the mandatory! I wonder which one of us is right? It all makes me nervous lol

I’m pretty confident it is A&P 1, 2 and Algebra that are mandatory before application and the other pre-reqs need to be at least enrolled in by the application date and completed before the program starts. I emailed to confirm that micro was okay to be taken this semester and they said it was okay.

and what about missing 1 point in reading hesi any chance

I can vouch for this. It's for sure stated on the website and I had to double check the requirements with nursing department as there's been confusion. They confirmed everything @KMB2008 has stated here.

Hello. The minimum requirement is 75% each on Reading, Vocabulary, Grammar, and Mathematics. I would aim for an 80% minimum because you don't receive any extra points for less than 80%.

AHHHHH I applied for the Spring 2020 and I don't believe I have enough points but I have been looking into chambridge for their BSN. It is 65K with all my prereq finished I'm 27 and am over waiting list so school loans itll be.

I currently work at mayo clinic and have talked to the educators there they say they hire nurses from Chambridge & Keiser but def not conorde or Jersey College.

Anyone else in the same boat?

@staysha92 I feel the same way. I’m going to Fortis College. I still need to complete a few prerequisites but I’m in the program already. They’re fully accredited by ACEN.

@DeniseO-1125 how much for their ADN? Have you looked into Chamberlain? Or know anyone who has graduated Fortis and been able to get a job at the Hospital?

@staysha92 how many points do you have?

I think I tallied 120? I did OK on the core sections but I could've done better I was just so nervous and I hate test plus my grades for the prereqs really brought me down. I could retake my classes but that's just more time and I don't want to wait anymore

@staysha92 it’s around $48k for the entire 2 year program, if you haven’t already taken any prerequisites. And that includes everything: scrubs, books, labs, a laptop if you want it, I mean everything.

And yes, hospitals hire graduates.
