FSCJ Spring 2020 Nursing Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi,

I'm starting this thread in hopes that other FSCJ Spring 2020 hopefuls will join in. Good luck to everyone applying come September.

No, I didn’t know there was one.

@cking27 https://www.facebook.com/groups/1177338662448692/?ref=share This is the link if you would like to join. The group is very helpful. If the link doesn’t work just search for FSCJ Nursing Spring 2020

Not for Spring 2020, obviously, but had a question and thought I'd see if anyone here knew. If I CLEP'd ENC1101, how would this be treated for the purposes of points toward my ranking, since it was pass/fail, not letter grade? Do I need to take the actual class?

You either get a “pass” which does nothing for your gpa or for your application multiple (so not recommended) or a B which isn’t bad but it’s 1101 so it’s not hard. If you have the time take the class and get an A. Definitely better than clep.

@DeniseO-1125 What was fortis entrance exam like and what sections did they cover.

It’s the HESI, English and Math sections. They have you take review classes before taking the exam to prepare. Once you score high enough on the practice tests then they let you sit for the HESI. FSCJ students come to the classes lol.

I’m going to Fortis. I’m sure a lot of people might have something to say about that, but I’m able to get in without the wait and worry about being accepted. The program is accredited. I might have to retake a class because they only take transfer classes with grades of B or better. It’s more expensive but I won’t be taking nonessential classes waiting to get into the program and I’ll be out and working a lot faster. In the end it just works better for me.

How is it going so far? Im starting soon.

It’s great! I’ve just started taking the nursing core classes, and they’re no joke. But I would expect nothing less of any good nursing school. The teachers are tough, but are also there to help you succeed. In the end it doesn’t matter where you went to school, it just matters that you pass that state board.

Good luck!
