Hi everyone. This is my first time posting here. I am in the middle of tackling the pre-reqs for FSCJ nursing program. I am really hoping to get into the SPring 2012 program (fingers crossed!!) But I'm a little confused about something.
I will be taking my last two classes in the fall, Micro and AP2. My advisor told me that I can apply for the program while I am taking these classes....my question is, if I apply to the program before the Oct. 1 deadline how will they be able to calculate my points for Micro and AP2 if I have not yet fully completed those classes? Will I have to wait until the next fall program? I am really hoping that is not the case, but I'm thinking my advisor may have given me th wrong information.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
The CNA Program at FSCJ is 3 MONTHS, so hopefully by spring I'll be working as a CNA and will be able to quit my current job...I have to work fulltime too I actually just got off the phone with someone at North campus- shes going to mail me the fall schedule for the program..not hard to get into either. It's not limited...she said :)
Hi all,
I am currently in AP 2 and looking to take Micro in the Fall. I think I am going to schedule to take the PSB in July so depending on how well I do on that I may possibly apply for Spring 2011 (I don't think I will have enough points but we'll see). Is anyone in the thread planning to apply for the night/weekend track? Also, I do highly recommened going to one of the Nursing seminars at North Campus if you have not already. I got a lot of incorrect information from other advisors so I went to the seminar and they lay it all out for you (volunteer, testing details etc).
Good luck to everyone.
You would need to call or email the Nursing contact CJ at the North Campus. She can let you know when the information session is held. I know when I went there were changes made to the Chemistry requirement (can no longer use highschool chem for example) and they no longer require you to be CPR certified when you apply, only upon being accepted. They also cover the volunteer time required for the program which I was completely unaware of.
If you have any issues getting to anyone let me know.:)
From what I have heard that is a pretty good score to be eligible for the night and weekend track. I am also hoping to get in for night and weekends since that is my only option and I will probably only have around 200 pts. They take the first 22 people with the highest scores that select this track as their first option. How did the NAT go?
That is a really good score for the NAT. I have not taken it yet but I plan to schedule it in the next month. I am really nervous about it since it's been quite some time since I took a standardized test so I am going to try to study as much as possible before taking it. I have heard it's pretty easy. I don't think I will be able to apply for Spring 2012 since I still have to take Microbiology (unless I get a really good score on the NAT) so I will probably be applying in the Spring for the Summer track. I really don't think you will have a problem getting into the night track but let me know what you find out.

Oh okay, well that makes sense. Is that a hard program to get into? I have been trying to get a job in a medical setting for a while now but without experience it's hard. I also have to work full time so if I can't get a different job I would need to get into the night/weekend track which I know will also be tough. Do you know how long the CNA program is? I would love to look into it. And, yes, if you have any more info on the PSB please let me know. I don't know why I am dredding that the most.
