FSCJ Spring 2012 Hopeful w/???s

Published

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting here. I am in the middle of tackling the pre-reqs for FSCJ nursing program. I am really hoping to get into the SPring 2012 program (fingers crossed!!) But I'm a little confused about something.

I will be taking my last two classes in the fall, Micro and AP2. My advisor told me that I can apply for the program while I am taking these classes....my question is, if I apply to the program before the Oct. 1 deadline how will they be able to calculate my points for Micro and AP2 if I have not yet fully completed those classes? Will I have to wait until the next fall program? I am really hoping that is not the case, but I'm thinking my advisor may have given me th wrong information.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

FSCJ has the blue Polo shirts available at the nursing office if you want to check the size before you order on-line. Congrats to all!!!!

Could you add me to the facebook page! Joan Secrest :)

Can I be added too? Taylor Marie Gray, my middle name is in my title thanks!!

BTW I got my official packet today and it has a sticker on it with days

Sadly to say those that were notified by email were accepted and their packets are on the way..who knows how points are calculated..they also said rejection letters will be mailed out next week..so if you didn't get an email on FSCJ email then its safe to say you aren't in the program for Jan. 2012..

Okay so how do scrubs run? I wear a 2/4 size small? And it says the reccommend the littman cardio iii, $150. Is it worth it? I was thinking of getting the littman master for $100

Don't buy the $150 they say they recommend. Littman has a great lightweight stethoscope for around $50. The Cardiology one is HEAVY.

Looks like a year of fulltime CNA work and no more Bright Futures for me =(

So does anyone know if you just pick up the drug screening FORM at FSCJ, or do you actually do your drug screening there?

Specializes in Geriatrics,Neuro, ER, Peds, Orth, OBGYN,.

You have to pick up the Drug Screen form in the office on the 1st floor in the same building as the Nursing offices, only next to the Auditorium where graduation is held. They will check off your name as you pick up the form. Then you take the form to Northside Medical on Busch drive next to Hardees and they do the drug screen and send the results back to FSCJ.

Hello all,

A little off topic but I was told I can apply only once a year. I wont be ready until next year but Im just trying to get my info straight. Also, I am a firefighter and was wondering if the schedule is flexible at all, thanks in advance.

I'm so sorry you didn't get in this time Shiverphone :( If this is something you really want to do then you need to keep at it. I couldn't go first time around back in 2003...here it is 8 years later and I am finishing what I started. I know it's disheartening when you put your all into something that you want...the let-down hurts. Take a breather, regroup and then try again...you can do anything you put your mind to. For some, these things come easy...for others, we have to work our butts off for it.

Also, keep in mind as people decline their seats (and many people decline their seats) you could get a decline letter one day and a phone call the next saying you are in due to people giving up their seats.

Another option to keep in mind...FSCJ is not the only program in town. ;)

Many hugs to you and well wishes!!

Mike-you can apply EVERY term :) You can only take the entrance exam 2 times a year and it has to be 6 months apart!! Not sure if the program schedule is flexible...I start in January!

Shiverphone---

DON'T give up!!! I got declined for Fall 2011....I took the NAT again, raised my points, and I am in for Spring 2012! You will get there :)

Also-many people do decline their spots...last day to call for your spot is the 9th, so stay by your phone!! You may get a call :)
