FSCJ Nursing-Summer 2015

I haven't seen any thread for Summer 2015 Nursing Program for FSCJ, so I decided to create this one. There has been slight changes made to the program and to the prerequisite requirements.

Is anyone else planning to apply for the program? Any tips?

Words of encouragement?

Have you taken the HESI?

I got a cumulative score of 82% on the HESI.

Took the Hesi today and did ok but there's always room for improvement (especially my biology score). I studied the A&P and Biology sections from the Assessment admissions book the school recommends and was disappointed that it didn't cover nearly as much of the same information that was on the test. Will definitely be using a broader study scheme next go around. Does anyone know if you have to get a certain passing score on each section or just an average passing score?

what was your HESI score, if you dont mind me asking?

Cumulative score on the HESI was 75.5% and I'm going to retake it again in Feb. (applying for fall/2015).

Hey guys and gals, i missed getting in to spring my 2 points -_- it was the worst! It was because I was taking microbiology and could not apply that to my points! But now that the class is over i believe i am looking at a score of around 194.6, which im pretty sure the cutoff is always in the low 180's! If you all have any questions or want to chat i wouldnt mind that either (: [email protected]

@jaturner - Two points?! Aww man!! Well good luck to you if you're applying for Summer!!! What was your HESI score if you dont mind me asking?

Happy New Year to all! Anyone has submitted the application package yet for summer start? How many points are you guys applying with? I am planning on driving mine over to North Campus next week. On another note, I can's stop wondering why this blog does not have nearly as much activity as the spring 2015 blog from potential applicants. It had so many new posts every day. Is it coincidental or not a popular semester to apply? Also, what HESI studying resources did you find the best for yourselves? I am retaking it next week. Would love to hear from you. Its getting close! Wishing us all luck in 2015!

Hi there, um my hesi score is like 101 or 102 i believe!

Good Luck Yulia! I used my A&P and Biology books and some old McGraw-Hill online math practice questions to review for HESI - to me though, the A&P/Biology were the easier sections, or maybe I felt that way because they didn't have nearly as many questions as the math and reading sections.

Hi can someone confirm...college algebra is a prereq than must be completed prior to application for Summer/2015 correct? I planned to apply for Fall/2015 since I am still enrolled in the algebra class and won't be done till March but want to be sure I am right on that. TIA!

Kristin, I believe you are correct. From what Ms. James has stated, the only course that can be in progress at the time of application is Micro or Chem, if Micro grade is already in. Just make sure that you grade posts before you apply for the fall.
