FSCJ Nursing - Spring 2016

Published

Hello!

I haven't seen a thread for FSCJ Spring 2016, so I thought I'd start one. Who all is planning on applying for this term start? If anyone is in the program already, any advice??

Look forward to chatting with you all. :)

Does anyone else feel like they don't think they'll get in? I don't know my points yet because I haven't taken the HESI but I'm taking 2 other classes right now and I am trying to study for the HESI and my other class exams all at the same time and it SUCKS!! I feel like I'm going to do horrible on the test and not have enough points to get in...

I had a dream last night that I received a decline letter. Which is crazy, because I have 228.9 points.

I'm about to take the Hesi-a2 exam in 2 days and then applying after that! If anybody has any new tips for the hesi besides what I've heard there is an abundance of (mitosis, meiosis, fractions, ratios) I would appreciate your insight.

Also I haven't been able to make it to North campus to pick up the new application packet so if somebody could scan/email it to me I would greatly appreciate it! [email protected]

thanks & hope to enjoy spring 2016 with all of you! Good Luck!

Hello mgnlng3. I am also going to be taking the HESI on Monday. From what I have seen you should study up on conversions, the difference between prokaryote vs eukaryote, anatomy of the cell, taxonomy, and like you said, mitosis and meiosis. These are the main things that I keep seeing pop up.

Good Luck!

thank you! I've seen a lot of people saying that so I've been watching videos on them all day. Do you happen to have a copy of the application packet with all of the point information and the page we need to turn in?

I do. I can email it over to you.

I'm studying for the HESI right now. Does anyone know if we can use scratch paper for the test? I've been watching videos and one girl said they weren't allowed to use paper so some of the math problems like fractions were really difficult.

Lots of ratios/fractions, and they do supply scratch paper. There is also a calculator for use on the computer on screens that require calculations.

Hey guys. I'm just curious, for those of you applying to the spring 2016 session what are your total scores? I have a 201 and I'm wondering what my chances are for getting accepted?!?

I have 233 once my micro professor puts in her grades and I update my transcript

Hey guys! I am not as far along in this process yet as every else (I have 3 pre reqs left:() but I was curious if anyone took A&P1 and Micro together? I'm considering separating them into 3 semesters, but I hate the thought of having to wait it out another semester for me to apply, although deep down I know its best not to rush the process lol. So I was just wondering if anyone here took them two together and how was the work load? And has anyone taken A&P 1 or 2 or Micro online? Btw, congrats to everyone for being so close to starting this journey!! :)

I took A&P 2 and Micro together and it was seriously tough. I ended up with a B in Micro and unfortunately a C in A&P 2. I also worked full time so that made it even harder. If you dont work or maybe work part time then I would say it would be ok. They are both tough classes so it will really depend on how much time you are able to give towards these classes. Taking your time with them will help you learn them better and possibly get better grades which of course would be better for your points!

Thank you Shirley for the advice :) I work full time as well, so like you said it may be a little rough to do both at the same time as well as working. I think I am going to separate them just to make sure I have enough points. This whole process is so nerve racking to me lol! But again, thanks :)
