FSCJ Nursing - Spring 2016

Published

Hello!

I haven't seen a thread for FSCJ Spring 2016, so I thought I'd start one. Who all is planning on applying for this term start? If anyone is in the program already, any advice??

Look forward to chatting with you all. :)

Has anyone taken extra classes. Like do i need to take ENG2 or a speech class. I see the prerequisites and i have 2 more left but is there anything extra i should be taking?

I don't think you do. Whatever prerequisites that are listed on the application is what is required. I took extra classes because I wanted to get my AA before I applied.

Those additional classes are if you want to get your AA. If you plan on continuing to get your BSN you will need them. I finished all of my prereqs last semester that were needed to enter the nursing program and this semester and next are to do some of these additional classes. I am taking American Federal Government, Statistics, and Nutrition this semester and next semester I will be doing another Humanities, Speech, and Intro to womens studies. I will then only have ENC2 and 1 credit of an elective left and I will have my AA.

The deadline for the application is August 1, right? On the application it says so but on the fscj website it still says August 1-October 1. Just making sure!

Yes, Casey, Aug 1 is the deadline and we'll receive our acceptance letters 6-8 weeks after. And ShirleyG80 is correct about the classes for your AA; you will need them for your bachelor's, so go for it. I got my AA before applying to the nursing program so I could concentrate on nursing. If you're going to take ENC1102, Matt Lany is AWESOME!!!! And Dean Moore for Statistics. Both are at South Campus.

I agree! Take Dean Moore for Statistics, he made it incredibly easy to understand!

Hey guys. I'm just curious, for those of you applying to the spring 2016 session what are your total scores? I have a 201 and I'm wondering what my chances are for getting accepted?!?

I have 211.5, I heard from past students if you have over 200 points you get a seat.

Hmm I heard cut offs we're in the 180s. Now I'm REALLY nervous!!!

I'm sure you'll get in í ½í¸Š

Anything over 200 is pretty golden from what I've seen so you should get in. The low scores below 180 are the ones that I would really be worried about. I take the HESI on the 27th so I don't know my scores yet.
