FSCJ/FCCJ spring 2011 hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

I scanned the threads and didn't see one for this class set up yet. I'm applying at the end of the semester. Anyone else?

Will do. Do you know how long it takes for us to hear back once we apply? I have heard some say 4 weeks some say 6 weeks. Also, do we have to attach an FSCJ official transcript? I was wondering since its all the same school. I need to sign up for one of those informational sessions I keep hearing about.

I was told when I handed in my application in at the Nursing Office that it would be 6-8 weeks from Oct 1st and I replied about mid Dec and she ( the receptionist) , replied with "an exactly"

If you read the application packet that i ahve referenced in my last couple of posts , it states the applicants are responsible for submitting their transcripts with the application. Just go on to Artemis and print one off that is all I did , took me five mins...

OHH okay I see that here on this packet that i have. "Applicants are responsible for securing their own transcript from Connections and checking that all grades are posted." I guess I wasnt reading ALL of it. Thanks :-)

I think they may have a difficult time trying to implement that one still handing out application packets that contradict that objective, it would at least be open for appeal possibly a law suit...most especially when you accept students from all these outlying areas for regular admissions and someone such as myslef has all the necessary prereq's with a decent placement score from FSCJ and in the thirteenth hour they want to throw out some bogus qualifying criteria that isnt listed anywhere else in any handbook or web site location and the exact opposite statement is still listed on the application packets.....I may need to call my good buddy at the "DoWe, Cheat'Um and How" law firm for a free consultation....:yeah:

Yes! I did notice that it is still in the application pack for some reason. While I do agree with the county criteria, they need to state this in the packets so that they wont mislead people. Theyre probably just cheap and dont wanna get off their wallets and pay for new ones

I have spent a good bit of time going through the past posts here this evening. It appears there is somewhat of a penalty for living outside Duval however they do appear to accepting some applicants with the higher scores.I agree they should post this information on their application packets , web site, something. As I stated I would much prefer SJRCC however their next class doesnt start until next summer term 2011 here in OP. I feel I have a good chance of being accepted there if I miss the cut off here this term with FSCJ. Should they not accept me , I think if it was a mere residency issue that is a shame as I have completed all my prereq's with them, my NAT was above in all areas and my GPA should be fine with my prereq's at 107 pts. So as with everyone else I will sit the waiting game out....I do wish everyone all the best. I know I have worked my tail off to get this far and I know everyone else is in the same boat...so deep breaths everyone..inhale, exhale....1,2,3, 4, ....:uhoh3:

no problem, glad I could help ya...hang in there, youre almost there....deep breaths...

That is actually not true because my cousin got accepted for the fall and she lives in st. johns. I would hope its not true any way! Especially if someone had really good grades and a high score to be denied because of where they live! Doesnt seem to fair! lol! :) Anyways! I am also applying to the Spring Program 2011 and I have like 202 points with 1 class left to finish. I am hopeful! Good luck to EVERYONE!

yeah they will take someone from another county only if they dont have enough to fill the spots from duval. Theyre just trying to keep everyone in their own counties and keep students from outside areas from taking spots from jacksonviile students. They just wanna give jax students priority which I have no qualms with:)

How many points did your cousin have at the time of their application do you know?? :uhoh3:

I applied on Friday, September 17th with 207.08 points. I previously applied for the Fall with 179 points but didn't get in. So I retook my NAT test and scored an additional 20 points on it. So I am really hoping I have enough to get in. The fall cutoff was 201.04 points. Good luck everyone!!!!

WOW 20 points higher???? What a huge jump! I didnt do well on the NAT...Whats your secret?????.?

Hey K-

Well I originally scored only 77 points on my NAT back in May 2010. I hadn't finished my Microbiology class so when I did that gave me 12 more points because I got a B in the class. When I went to take my NAT for the 2nd time, everything just seemed to click for me. A lof of the vocabulary questions I had on the test were from my Mirco class so it helped me to finish the class then take my NAT. So after my NAT and Micro I ended up getting an additional 29 points. I really hope I get in. I think I scored like 95 points on my NAT the 2nd time around.
