FSCJ/FCCJ spring 2011 hopefuls

I scanned the threads and didn't see one for this class set up yet. I'm applying at the end of the semester. Anyone else?

I'm all done with my pre-reqs. My grades are pretty average, so Im kinda hoping I'll score well on the NAT to balance things out. I'll take the NAT the 2nd or 3rd week of September. How about you?

I am taking AP1 this coming semester. I was thinking of taking a stab at the NAT after completing AP1. I am anxious and I need to get it over with so I know what to expect if I have to take it a 2nd time before applying for the nursing program. If I score high enough on the NAT, I may be able to apply while enrolled in Micro in Summer 2011. :specs:

So that makes me a Fall 2012 hopeful?! All these dates, deadlines and application requirements are so confusing. I am just taking it one semester at a time at this point...as long as my actions are getting me closer to my goal of attaining my RN degree, I am happy.

Good luck in Sept, keep me posted,

If you take the NAT 2x but do worse the second time... how does that work??? Does anyone know??? Do they look at both or just the most recent or do you even have to send in the second set of results??? Am getting ready to drop off stuff to North campus tomorrow afternoon so if anyone has any idea please let me know

If u take the NAT 2x, they will take the better of the 2 in every category. For instance, if u score higher of the science section the first time, they will take that, and if u score higher on the reading section the 2nd time, they take that

I took the NAT today, and received a 110.72 score on it (according to the RN program conversion). This puts me at a 205.72 total. I want to mail my application in on Monday, and hopefully find out sometime in October if I was accepted or not.

Good luck to you all!!!

That is awesome!! CONGRATULATIONS!! :yeah:

Was that your first time taking it? What study tips/test taking pointers do you have for the pre-NAT nursing students? :clown:

Again, good job...I am sure you will get in...if not :crying2:

Good job aIIure17!!!

I take the NAT in 2 weeks. Any pointers? Im really nervous about the science portion.

Hi I am applying for the Spring 2011 class....I got a 192.32....I took the NAT test a couple days ago so I am being hopeful.

Hello Everyone...

Just took the NAT today. After calculating my points I was ecstatic about my 201.2 points. Now I'm not feeling too great after reading these posts. I can't believe the cut off last semester was 201.24! My mother in law got into the program 5 years ago with just a 183... I've never heard of the cut off being in the 200's before

CareerNurse,

Are you going for the days or nights & weekend? I think the N&W is much more competitive to get into b/c they have less spots to fill. Is this your first time taking the NAT?

Hey all. Im a summer hopeful. I think Ive heard that the reason for the cutoff being so high in fall is b/c a lot of parents are applying for the fall program since summer is over and the kids are starting back to school, so they have time to go to school themselves. Fall semesters usually yield the highest cutoff's. Ill be very surprised if the cutoff doesn't go down for spring! Let not your heart be troubled. We'll get there one way or the other.

Not sure about everyone else, but I struggled with the NAT. I didnt do well my first time around

Yes, it was my first time taking the NAT. I did horrible on the arithmetic portion, but fortunately for me, I realized it doesn't count when calculating your points, though I'm sure it is probably calculated into academic aptitude. I found the first section was easy, except for the time constraints. 90 questions in 30 minutes is a little ridiculous, so I skipped all the arithmetic questions for which I had to do any long calculations, and then I didn't have time to go back at the end to complete them as originally intended. I have 99 points from the NAT and I don't feel like I can improve my scores. Hopefully my 201 points will be enough to get me through. Thanks for the encouragement! And that part about more people applying for the fall semester does make a lot of sense as to why the cut off was so high, I didn't think of that...
