I scanned the threads and didn't see one for this class set up yet. I'm applying at the end of the semester. Anyone else?
I applied for fall with 197.6. I thought that would be enough. I am finished with all my classes too. I guess I need to take the Nat again. This is my 3rd denial letter today. But, I am not going to give up. Good Luck to everyone and hopefully I will see you in the Spring. From my lips to God's ears.
Oh, gosh, I'm really sorry. I'm sure you'll be able to bring up your NAT score and get in this time! My husband and I are already working on plan B and C - I'm getting laid off from work; my last day is Friday. I'm going to take a CNA certification class in September and hopefully start working. I hope I get in for the spring, but if not, I try again for the summer.
ETA: For some reason, I cannot add at all. I just pulled out my transcript and wrote every grade down and had a coworker double check me and I have 204 points if I finish Micro and A&PII with a B in each. I'm still not counting my chickens, though.
THat's awesome if you end up with 204. If I would have had the points that I had for fall for the last two times I applied I would have been in. I took statistics to get an A, bc I had a "B" in Algebra and I got an "A". So, that gave me a few extra points. I was heartbroken last night when I had got my denial letter. I called and signed up for the info session on Aug. 11th, maybe they can tell me something I don't know. Where are you going to take the CNA class? I have thought about doing the same thing. I am sorry you are going through so much right now. I'm sure it will all work out.
I'm going to try to take the CNA class that the Red Cross offers - they have info about it on their website, but what I remember is that it's a 7 week class, 3 days a week, and they offer both days and nights/weekends. It costs $675, which covers books/scrubs/materials/BCLS certification (which we need for the program!). There are some free online CNA training classes, I think, but the Red Cross has such a great reputation and I'd rather have hands on experience than watch videos any day. :)
Nefloridaredcross.org is the website, the cna class info is on the site somewhere. You have to send an email to the director to get info regarding the classes.

Oh! There's an info session? Do I call the number on the packet to sign up?
And thanks. :)

They are offering a information session to the ones that applied and got the denial letter to have the nursing department go over my application with me. I called this morning and scheduled my appointment. Maybe , you can go too, call the nursing department and tell them you would like to schedule for the info session. Aug.2nd@ 10 and/or on Aug.11 @3.
Thanks for the info about the CNA classes!
Future Spring 2011 hopeful here!!
For those of you who have taken the NAT, what was the natural science portion like? I picked up the ARCO test prep book and there's a portion for chemistry and physics in the book. Did chemistry and physics show up in the science portion? Or was just pure basic biology and general science?
Can anyone chime in on the topic? Thanks in advance!

There were physics and chemistry questions on the test. But basic stuff, really. It seems like they want to make sure you have a decent science background. This site http://www.testprepreview.com/nursing_practice.htm has some good practice questions so you can see what the test will cover.
Hello everyone,
I am a Fall 2011 hopeful. I am so excited! I will be taking on A&P I in Fall '10 and then A&P II in Spring '10. I am hoping to connect with a few people that can give me some insight on the professors/course materials prior to starting my classes..any advice would be greatly appreciated. I really need some tips on the Chemistry (I need it before I can apply and I am terrible at chemistry!)
Also, how far in advance did you start studying for the NAT? Any recommendations for online study aids for NAT, A&P, etc?
Thanks and take care~

Crap. I calculated wrong - I'll have 199. Oh well, I'm going to try my luck anyway.
