I know this is early, but I am sure there are Fall hopefuls out there for 2011.
Anyone out there yet, or am I just overly eager?
I heard Deerwood for N/W.
You know, this website is truly making the waiting period go by a little quicker ... it's so nice to know there are people out there with similar goals as me. I've been in real estate and banking for 6+ years. I started right out of HS because the money was right. I've later realized that money is NOT what it's about. You spend sooo many hours at your job and it's crucial to love what you're doing -- to feel fulfilled. I promise you guys, the day that letter comes and it reads..."Congratulations....," I will feel like my name is being called durning the NFL draft.:anpom:
You can get a stethoscope for 17$ or for $300. The professors suggest one that is $150 (Littman) BUT if you go to the store where they make you purchase your nursing skills bag at they have the generic brand of the 150$ stethoscope for 85$(prestige) and thats what I have, works perfectly.
First semester is crazzzzzyyy! Ive always worked full time + gone to school full time and for the first time I have had no choice but to take my hours down. Im not sure what the schedule is for nights but for days we are on campus 4 days a week for the majority of the day, so it is intense. Well worth it.
Does anyone know if you can get your immunizations and titers done now or is there a certain time frame you have to do them in AFTER being accepted? I was thinking of having a few things done now to try to space out all the money that will need to come out of my pocket that financial aid doesn't cover. Also, I want to go ahead and take my CPR class....we don't have to wait on this one, right???? Thanks!!!
I was told recently that we can get a lot of the immunizations and titers done at the Health Department for like $50, and that we can get them done now. The physical and PPD should be held off until later.
It is all so up in the air, I've been told to wait and told to start it now. I'm going to wait, but do it at the Health Depart.
This packet can't come soon enough!
Is anyone starting to study?
Xo,

sugarbee,I know a lot of people who say not to study and just relax, but I like to keep busy!:)
I agree, I can't remember the last time that I didn't have work and school 7 days a week. I'm going stir crazy without a single class this semester. :anbd:
My sister-in-law just graduated from nursing school, so I've been going on her evolve account and taking her pharmacology class. I'm also taking all the tests in my medical term book, and I think I'm going to get a few common resources and review them. Studying is helping the time go by, but I feel so lost without a certain path.

Thanks everyone...I will get my CPR cert. now and wait for everything else. I have a pharmacology book that my brother had when he was a nursing student at JU that I'm starting to look at....hopefully it will help me with a little knowledge as I've heard that is one of the hardest classes in the 1st semester.

Same here, I work in Southpoint. I finally told my boss that I applied to nursing school and may need to change my schedule a bit. I'm glad she supports my decision, but location makes a bit difference in how much change my schedule needs!
