FSCJ/FCCJ Fall 2011 Hopefuls

Published

I know this is early, but I am sure there are Fall hopefuls out there for 2011.

Anyone out there yet, or am I just overly eager?

:lol2:

500, wow! I'm starting to get nervous again. Thanks for checking on that.

S

I'm not sure if it will be 500, that's just what I think. The lady I spoke to said the count was at 405 but she had several more applicants to add to the system. I think we will be fine. It doesn't matter how many people apply, it only matters on the amount of points they have and hopefully we will all get in and not have to worry about this ever again!!! This 8 week wait is going to seem like an eternity and it's just the beginning!!

hi ready2bnrs, that was probably one post I could have done without! lol

I am now thinking I will either be really lucky or really unlucky...just the thought that we are up against at least 400 other people is mind-blowing!

I applied for n/w with 212...if I get accepted for days, I will be hunting for someone to switch with. Otherwise, I may have to wait until next semester.

NJ, you will be fine!!! Don't sweat it...I am very optimistic that you will get a spot for N/W!!! Don't worry. I know it's easier said than done, I'm worried I won't get a day spot with 202 points so I know how you feel!!!!

lol! I was thinking the same thing.

If I get a n/w spot, it's yours.

Xo,

that's what's up, sugarbee!!! u will be receiving a friend request from me :D

you know what really has me stressed? how am I gonna come up with the money for all the things we have to do before showing up to orientation? Does anyone know how that works? I get financial aid in the form of a Pell grant. Will any of the money be available to me to buy these things or is it all out of pocket? Would loan money be available sooner than the grant money? Maybe I could take a loan out to cover these expenses.

I don't think the Pell Grant or loan will be available before classes start. They never have before. I also don't think you have to complete the requirements by the orientation, but rather, by the start of the term.

It is so stressful to get this all done in time. I'm not working as much as I usually do because I want to squeeze every moment left out of my family before the semester starts, but I'm afraid that we will be living off beans and rice so that I can get titers and such.

This will all pay off. :)

ok...so, if the summer 2011 term cutoff was 197 ...how many applicants were there? so far fall term has btw 400-500 applicants. also, they changed the number of seats (i'm pretty sure this was already mentioned but, i recently received confirmation from my advisor). "they will have 144 each semester except when they add a night class of 24, night classes haven't been offered every semester, they will be announced each year."

:idea:since fall term allows n/w for top ranked applicants... this gives us (fall term applicants) a little more wiggle-room than the summer term applicants had. so, if anyone knows how many applied during the summer, maybe our brains who scored 200+ points can relax (just a little). fingers & toes are crossed that my 201.8 points is enough!! good luck to everone and i can't wait to meet you guys!!! :redbeathe:nurse:

There were 385 or 387 people that applied to the summer program. That's why I'm pretty optimistic about getting in as long as our scores are over 200. Nothing is guaranteed, but I think we are pretty safe. That doesn't mean I wont be concerned until I receive my letter, but it does help me relax a little bit more than it would if my points were under 200. We r going to be fine and I can't wait to meet all of u guys.

I am in summer term and pell was available and covered my classes. The books (just required text, not extra suggested) was 890$ with a discount coupon, you have to buy the $890 box that has the required books. That is not included the uniforms, stethoscope, and background/medical tests. However I got FULL pell and still had some money left over. So I would suggest buying your stethoscope in the book store (I didnt) in order to use your book voucher.

thanks for the info Jessica89. At least now I know that my books will be covered.

How much does the stethoscope cost? I will probably buy that out of pocket.

BTW, how are things going for you in your first semester of NS?

Anyone know which campus n/w classes will be held in the Fall?

Deerwood, I hope! I work right down the road from there.
