FSCJ Fall 2014 hopefuls

Published

Hello everyone, I did not see a post for the fall 2014 semester, so I wanted to get it started. I applied to the 2014 summer semester and now I am waiting on my acceptance or denial letter. I am starting this forum just in case i do not get in for the summer. My total score right now is 169.96. I have 97 points for my classes and 72.96 points from the NAT. I am currently taking statistics and humanities, in hope of getting an A in both of them to boost my score up to 178.96. I made a C in A&P 1, my first humanities class and PSY1012. I also made a B in college algebra and that is what got my score down so low. I hope that the low cut off score trend continues to give me a good chance of getting in. The last 3 semesters were 175.96, 187 and 187. I am preparing to retake the NAT in late May to be in time for the June 1st deadline with plenty of time to study for the NAT. I look forward to meeting you all, and hear how things are going for you, so we can encourage and support one another.

Also, thank you to the veterans for answering questions throughout the blog. I feel very well prepared for next semester now. I really appreciate the honesty on what to expect instead of it being sugar coated.

You are more than welcome! I appreciated it too when the veterans advised us at the beginning. It is never intended to be negative or harsh. This is a wonderful program, but it is hard, it is often unfair, and there are just things that are what they are, and no amount of wishing or hoping they would be different is going to change it. Many before us have done this and many after will as well.

And as I said earlier, those who were denied, keep on pushing. It will pay off in the end!! Never quit!

Your advice hasn't been negative or harsh, it's reality and we need to be ready for it!

I live in Clay so I get my mail a lot later. The letter just says all the seats have been filled. Nothing about a wait list. I will defintely have to call. What do you mean by what rank??

rae i have always heard that they fill with duval county & nassau county residents first then clay, so there is a smaller percentage of seats for clay.. maybe that is why. someone said this is no longer true, but it was true just a couple semesters ago.

I asked her that when I was on the phone with her and she said they don't do that anymore. It is all equal opportunity. Well, I will just have to use my time wisely and be ready for next semester. At least I know I was close. Especially since I know I will perform better on the HESI so my score will be much better. :)

Your positivity and ability to re-focus will serve you very well in this program when you do get in!!! Great attitude to have!!!

Yea. Keep your head up! And I appreciate all the advice from past/present veterans as well. We all know that it is not going to be easy. If it was easy everyone would want to do it. That is why you got to love what you are going to be doing because there are those out there that just do it for the paycheck and not have it in there heart and that why they make it hard to weed out those that aren't going to be strong and handle the pressure. If you got it in you, you will make it. You just gotta keep your head up because there are going to be struggles. This forum has helped me a lot and has given me so much information and I thank you all for being supportive and helping us out in any way. I am still waiting on something to come I am hoping today will be the day. But for those who didn't get in, there is a reason and God has a plan for you so don't give up and keep fighting, you will make it!!

Could someone please send me the HESI study packet to [email protected] thanks bunches.

Does anyone know if you receive your packet even if its after July 25 which is when you are suppose to call in by if you can still call and accept your seat? I have tried to call up there but I am thinking everyone has gone for the day. I emailed Mrs James but she is out of the office until Monday.

I didn't get in!! Does anyone have the study info for the Hesi? Could you send it to [email protected]?

I miscalculated my points somehow and was below the cut off, but if would have known that if you had enough points to apply without humanities then I would have waited because my points were above the cutoff with my humanities grade. I am so bummed, but on to plan B

Hi guys. I would really appreciate if someone can send me study guide for HESI A2 exam. Thank you so much.

Does anyone know for Introduction to Sociology (SYG 2000) do they take SYG 2013 which is called sex, race, and class. I have taken that class at UNF and want to make sure it will be transferred in. I would assume they would since its a higher level Sociology. Thanks!

Does FSCJ have your transcripts already? Email Ms. James and she can pull up your file and let you know.
