Hello everyone, I did not see a post for the fall 2014 semester, so I wanted to get it started. I applied to the 2014 summer semester and now I am waiting on my acceptance or denial letter. I am starting this forum just in case i do not get in for the summer. My total score right now is 169.96. I have 97 points for my classes and 72.96 points from the NAT. I am currently taking statistics and humanities, in hope of getting an A in both of them to boost my score up to 178.96. I made a C in A&P 1, my first humanities class and PSY1012. I also made a B in college algebra and that is what got my score down so low. I hope that the low cut off score trend continues to give me a good chance of getting in. The last 3 semesters were 175.96, 187 and 187. I am preparing to retake the NAT in late May to be in time for the June 1st deadline with plenty of time to study for the NAT. I look forward to meeting you all, and hear how things are going for you, so we can encourage and support one another.

Hi Beatrice! It sounds like you have a pretty good chance of getting in for the Fall if you miss the Summer cutoff. If you can get your NAT score just a little higher on top of the classes you shouldn't have to stress much. I also applied for the Summer semester, and although I don't have to worry about not getting in, I think I am going to end up giving up my seat for personal reasons. I CANNOT wait to start nursing school... but it might not be the best time for my family until Fall. It makes me sad thinking about skipping a semester, but it does make me feel a little better to know that if I decline my seat that someone else will get in who really wants it too.
Hi Amanda!! Thank you so much for the response! Yes, I really hope that I do better on the NAT when I retake it. I am sorry to hear that you may need to decline your seat. I know that can be frustrating, but on the bright side, at least you have a high score, and whenever you apply again ( if you decline your seat) you will not stress at all about getting accepted. I wish the best for you and hope that everything works out so you do not have to decline your seat, but if not, you will get in when the time comes :)
Thanks, you're right I should be thankful at least I have the option of starting this semester. Good luck on your NAT & classes!!! Have you looked into St. Johns community college nursing program? I only briefly looked into it because it was 5 semesters and that made me immediately lose interest, I was just wondering if maybe they had less applicants.
Your welcome. No, i did not look into them but since you asked, I went ahead and checked them out. I think I will stick to FSCJ because FSCJ is more convenient for me. were you able to find out if St John's community college nursing program as less applicants?

Hey Beatrice, does your total score include ALL of the prerequisites plus humanities, psychology, human growth and development, and English I?
Sorry about that. I didn't read your original post thoroughly. I wish you the best.
I looked into it a little bit and I don't think they are any easier to get into. But I guess it doesn't matter since FSCJ is said to have a better program, is shorter, and more convenient for you. Good luck, your persistence will pay off!
thank you!! I appreciate that! :)

Hello. I too applied for the summer, but with only a 174 I highly doubt my chances. I am hoping once my classes are done and I retake the NAT, that my chances greatly improve. Good luck to you in bringing up your grades.
Hello purple1985, that is a good score, not bad at all actually. I just finished up humanities with an A, so I am at 175.96 now for the fall application period. I am still working on statistics (hoping to get an A) and I will be retaking the NAT in late May. What classes do you have left and when do you plan to retake the NAT?
I have only Micro left. I have a 104 with my pre-reqs but I did horribly on my NAT(70.4). I plan on waiting until the end of april to retake the NAT. I didn't study the first time since I knew I could retake again before the fall. Based on my last score I will be starting to study soon. My husband is in the military and has decided to go to shore duty next December, which means we will be moving, so the fall semester is really my only hope to get into. Good luck in your stats class. I took it last semester and found it to be fairly easy.
