FSCJ Fall 2014 hopefuls

Published

Hello everyone, I did not see a post for the fall 2014 semester, so I wanted to get it started. I applied to the 2014 summer semester and now I am waiting on my acceptance or denial letter. I am starting this forum just in case i do not get in for the summer. My total score right now is 169.96. I have 97 points for my classes and 72.96 points from the NAT. I am currently taking statistics and humanities, in hope of getting an A in both of them to boost my score up to 178.96. I made a C in A&P 1, my first humanities class and PSY1012. I also made a B in college algebra and that is what got my score down so low. I hope that the low cut off score trend continues to give me a good chance of getting in. The last 3 semesters were 175.96, 187 and 187. I am preparing to retake the NAT in late May to be in time for the June 1st deadline with plenty of time to study for the NAT. I look forward to meeting you all, and hear how things are going for you, so we can encourage and support one another.

Hi there everyone! I applied with a 179.**. I know letters are still going out. I have been following this forum for a while now. Has anyone gotten a letter in the mail today?? I'm a stress wreck over here. :scrying:

No, but my mail doesn't get there until around 3 in the afternoon :(. I applied with a 183.06. We are all dying, so I promise you aren't alone!

I also applies with a 179.2 and I have not received anything in the mail as of today 7/23/14. I am just as anxious as you are! I'll let you know when I receive something of you'll do the same! :)

My brother checked the mail for me and nothing came in. I really don't understand the hold up when so many people got theirs last Friday.

It's kind of ridiculous. My friend got hers Friday and has been working on getting all the stuff done. She's not done yet so I can't imagine us having to get our crap done in even less time. Good news, she's kept me in the loop. But yeah. Not a happy girl at the moment.

The sad part about this is ,,,I leave to go to punta Cana for my sisters wedding and won't be back until Tuesday, so I asked ms James if I showed her my plane ticket can she let me know ...she said no if I can't check my mail, they will call if you got a acceptance letter and at that time when they call you can accept your seat...I'm going to be out of the country .....so like everyone else who haven't recieved a letter has everyone wondering was the cut off higher than 185 this semster ,which can't be because of some people who already got letters maybe sense it was errors on the other letters they wanted to get ours right....or they saving he best for last...whatever the case might be .....just check tomorrow and hope that good news comes to those who wait .......

Hey guys!

Yet again... No letter today! :( I agree with all of y'all and have said the same thing about not having much time to get all the stuff done. It getting ridiculous and I don't understand why they don't send all the letters out at one time. ughh :(

Congrats on everybody who got in! And those who are still waiting, don't stress! I spoke with Angie (front desk lady) and she said that the nursing packets could take up til' the first week of August. You guys still have time! happy.png

I got my acceptance packet on Friday and immediately went on and got finger printed for the background check, urinalysis for drug screen, gathered all my shot records, scheduled a physical exam at Carespot on Southside Blvd right next to Tinseltown (Costs 50$)

I have a question though, my shot records indicate that I was already vaccinated for MMR (Measles-Mumps-Rubella), so do I still need to get a titer for it?

-----Thanks for letting us know!

I think so. Are you following the Facebook page? If not, it is FSCJ Nursing c/o December 2015. You should ask the question on the the group page because there are several current nursing students helping us out with various questions. I think you still have to have the titers done.

Hello,

I got accepted!!!! OMG I can't believe it. I am so nervous. I see that you have nights and may want to switch. I have days and may be interested in switching. Please let me know if you are interested. Also, if anyone else is interested let me know. I need to look at all my options.

Does anyone know what the nights classes are like as far as hours and days? Any clue what the day shifts look like?

Congrats everyone!!!

Becky

Becky,

Are you following the Facebook page? If not, it is FSCJ Nursing c/o December 2015. There are current nursing students on their as well and they are answering questions for us. They could probably answer this question for you on Facebook.

Congrats!

I am currently first term Nights and Weekends. We have heard that a majority of your classes will be at deerwood. (ours are at North) Obviously this is subject to change, but this can give you an idea.

First term is 4 classes. Here is my schedule

Monday-Tests (every single monday testing) starts 6-7 and if you have more than one the second on is at 7:15-8

Tuesday-Health Assessment 6-9

Wednesday-Pharmacology- 6-9 (Hybrid so every other week)

Thursday-Concepts-6-9 (hybrid-every other week-opposite of pharm)

Saturday-Techniques (clinicals) On campus 8am-1:30--When at Hospital 6:30 am-1:30

We just got our schedule for 2nd term and it looks like this

(first 8 weeks is adult health-second 8 weeks is psych)

Mondays-ALWAYS TEST :-)

Tuesdays-(Adult health or psych) 6-10

Saturday & Sunday 6:30-3

This doesn't start obviously until next month so i have no idea how true it is, but this is the schedule we have been given ;-)

Ok. So yet again no letter today. Anyone else get theirs yet???

If you haven't received letters yet I would suggest checking your FSCJ Connections email. Ms. James send many of us a Skills Kit order form through it since it wasn't in our packets. Keep your chin up You Got This!!!!!
