FSCJ Fall 2014 hopefuls

Published

Hello everyone, I did not see a post for the fall 2014 semester, so I wanted to get it started. I applied to the 2014 summer semester and now I am waiting on my acceptance or denial letter. I am starting this forum just in case i do not get in for the summer. My total score right now is 169.96. I have 97 points for my classes and 72.96 points from the NAT. I am currently taking statistics and humanities, in hope of getting an A in both of them to boost my score up to 178.96. I made a C in A&P 1, my first humanities class and PSY1012. I also made a B in college algebra and that is what got my score down so low. I hope that the low cut off score trend continues to give me a good chance of getting in. The last 3 semesters were 175.96, 187 and 187. I am preparing to retake the NAT in late May to be in time for the June 1st deadline with plenty of time to study for the NAT. I look forward to meeting you all, and hear how things are going for you, so we can encourage and support one another.

I am literally making myself sick waiting on my letter. Tomorrow I have to prep a schedule for part-time work 6 weeks out and I have put it off hoping to get a letter telling us when orientation would take place. If need be I have every intention of calling out of work just to make it there for whatever the length of orientation is. I just hope when I rip open that letter at the mailbox I am crying out of happiness instead of rejection.

I honestly don't even see the point of a "liberal arts" chemistry course without a lab attached in college. If we had to sit through it in high school we can certainly do it for a semester in college SO this kind of dilemma doesn't occur. It's almost like they pick and choose which kind of prerequisite courses rather than follow a specific guideline. I have been finding things to keep myself busy so I don't become a nervous wreck waiting.

I was sick waiting for mine too. If you open the mailbox and it's a big white envelope, they will be happy tears. The first several weeks of trying to get everything in order is almost as stressful as your first week anyway, so it's a nice introduction to the program. "Congratulations...now here's 100 things you have to do to keep your seat!" ;-)

Does anyone remember what some of those 100 things are so maybe we can get some of them done beforehand if possible?

Based on what I have read by ppl who got accepted in the past is: if u have a score of 200 or more you aee in for sure so u can go ahead and starting getting you blood pressure kit, stethoscope, passport, scrub bottoms (if you are not getting them from the school), kaki pants, and duty shoes. Pretty much everything else u have to wait until u get ur acceptance letter b.c. the titers have to be dated after u receive your acceptance packet.

Can we go ahead and get our physical s or do we need to wait for our . Im so irritated if I took general psychology last spring it would brought my points up to 202 but insbutd I applied with 196 using my ap score which counts as a c

If they are making chemistry with a lab a requirement I bet there will ne a lot less people applying for spring 2015 bc I know a lot of people didn't take the lab portion and they haven't updated their website

Has anyone heard when they might be sending out the letters

I actually emailed ms james asking if chemistry with a lab would be needed in the spring a week ago and I haven't heard back.

Just finally made this account on here, I have been following the forums since January and all through the application process. I just applied for fall 2014 and have been waiting waiting waiting for a letter, but to answer your question, I heard they are going to be sending results out at the beginning of next week! so lets cross our fingers!

awesome. I hope thats right! The result s do you mean the letters? Or just the cut off score?

Hey everyone! I have been following the posts daily and finally made an account:) super nervous and anxious waiting on these letters to come. Just curious has anyone determined if there is really still only a certain percentage of seats accepted for Clay county? My parents/ lisence address is Duval but I listed my boyfriends address which is Clay county on the application because I mainly stay there and I wanted my mail to go there not realizing that would make a difference because I asked the lady at fscj if the county you lived in mattered and she said no!! Now I see everyone's posts and I'm nervous!!

So is acceptance based strictly on points or do they take all this other stuff into consideration? My academic past isnt so great from partying instead of studying when I was younger but I still applied with a 191
