FSCJ Fall 2010 ACCEPTED

Okay here we are!!!!!!

In my opinion, that is all mostly wishful-thinking, ideal-situation-type stuff. The reality is that during Term I, a group project comes together in the last couple of days. By the time you realize someone is not pulling their weight, it is usually too late to notify the instructor or shut them out.

My point for posting this was the lesson learned behind it. The leadership skills gained behind it. Making sure that you are the leader in your group. The personal benefit of going over all the work before it is submitted equates to retaining information and doing very well on exams. Knowing who you can depend on. While I was faced with that situation, We had a slacker and decided not to ask them to fix it, not trusting that they would do it right the second time (shut-out). Yes it was very late, but we got the job done in a matter of hours, the professor was notified and we got a good grade on the project and got very good grades on the following exam.

It really helped me see that even though I was mad as ****, it had to get done, there would be no excuse for not having this person's part of the project.

This was my first major group project and I know I made some mistakes. I learned from them and would definitely do better the next time. The slacker would not have the luxury of getting shut-out. There is no ideal situations in nursing school or nursing. Something goes wrong and you simply have to fix it . Complaining won't get you anywhere. ;)

In all group/team projects in which I have been a member, all participants received a copy of the final submission. It was never a situation in which the one to compile it was the only one to see it. Simple: a copy was emailed to all. What kind of group does not share the final submission with every team member? Geez.

There was a point and I had my own experience which I am speaking of. NOT YOURS... Please, I am not on this blog to argue with you and defend myself against you. I feel like you are stalking me just to provoke me. You are coming behind my posts and posting and being very negative. Please stop. I am just trying to help others by sharing my own experiences. I had a bad experience, found a post that helped me learn from it and I shared it with others...

Congratulations to all who made it to term 2. This was a grueling semester. Hopefully it gets a little easier..

I posted this in the hopefuls section as well...

I was a summer 2010 accepted and failed AH1 the first time around so I'll be joining ya'll Monday in the Baptist Nassau section (not sure which one that is I took whatever Ms. J gave me).

When I took the class we had our Unit 4 exam back to back with the HESI and I missed passing by 1.5% if I remember correctly... I think it worked out to 5 questions throughout the course. Ugghhhh. Anyways, I just wanted to say hello and that I'll be seeing you all soon.

Question for you guys- I was accepted into the Summer Program for 2011. Our orientation is 2morrow, did u guys bring your spouse or someone with u 2 orientation?

No. They can obviously be on the premises (such as the cafeteria) but they won't be permitted in the Orientation room.

Geesh, is that serious? Ok thanks :)

Hello, I just thought I'd drop some info on the worksource program. I went earlier this month to the orientation. Got all my paperwork in and they pay up to $7000 dollars for the R.N. Program. All the paperwork they ask for is already in your posession. The only requirement is that you have been either laid off, denied unemployment benefits, pending unemployment benefits, applied for unemployment benefits. They do not ask about income from a spouse. This is scholarship money based on re-employment strategies, not based on household income. The representative told me that they will be doing sign-up on the 19th for FSCJ. I am advising that you go to your nearest worksource center and sign up NOW! He said that I am now ahead of the game. They provide vouchers, monthly stipends for gas depending on how far you live from the North Campus (I don't qualify for that) and will pay for your uniforms, tuition, books and possibly nurses kits and stethescopes. Even if you don't think you qualify, the most you can do is try and the worst that can happen is they say you don't qualify. So just go down there NOW and get your paperwork started.

Hello, I was wondering if you could send me the info on the worksource you went to since not all the centers offer the same programs they say.

has anyone gone to NS Medical Clinic yet? I just called and was told the titer's results take a week! is this true? if so, that means we all have to go see them by this Friday, July 15th in order to have our results available by next Friday, July 22nd...now I am officially freaking out!
