Okay here we are!!!!!!

Is anyone else nervous?

yes. especially about how i'm going to pay for all of this stuff:eek:

Uh, yeah!!! Very much so, now that I am thinking about how much info will have to be absorbed. I have already started to tell friends that they should not expect to see me more than about two - three times over the next year and a half.:D Hearing Butterflymom saying that yesterday was the first day she got out to do anything other than study since the start of term kinda started to hit home. When I started school back in the late 80's, I didn't care so now I am struggling to make "A's" to improve my GPA. Over the last two years my GPA is a 3.75 but that has only been able to pull my overall GPA up to a 3.13. If I make only "A's" from here on out, the highest GPA I can have will be a 3.37 and now I am starting to wonder if I will be able to get into a BSN program once I get my ADN. I do not want to stop with a two year, but want to continue to advance. I am hoping that work experience(after graduation) combined with how well I do with the rest of my program will help me continue with my education. FSCJ requires 2000 hours(one year) experience with the ADN for acceptance into their BSN program.

MLTinJAX, was it you who I was sitting next to yesterday after Butterflymom left that was speaking of how it was extremely difficult to get into UNFs BSN program, but they actually try to recruit ADNs from hospitals to bridge to a BSN? That may be an option for me once I get on with someone and start getting experience. One other thing, it would be great to actually work for a company that would pay for further education.

To Butterflymom:

Thank you for all the info, I just wish I could have heard a it little better. The group was so large and spread out, it was difficult to take everything in. I look forward to NursRatchet getting her notes up(hint-hint, Nat!!!:D) as she was in about the best position to hear everything. I understand how difficult is was to take away from your already busy schedule, time away from your family and studying, so thank you very much.

hey W, that was me telling you about UNF's BSN program. they do try to recruit people for their bridge program, and a 2.9 is the requirement. you may have already taken some of the additional prereqs for the BSN... statisitcs, human nutrition, etc. i have a paper about it somewhere, i can make you a copy if you want.

It was great to meet you all yesterday!

Thank you butterflymom for all the great information!

See you all at the oreintation!

Hey guys! I just found this website because someone at my CPR class told me about it! I was accepted to and would like to just say hey to everyone!

So I haven't started on anything, wondering how I am going to pay for all of this. I am unemployed. Time to re-assess the words value and sacrifice. That beautiful 2 carat diamond ring im still holding on to since my husband left me, went straight to the pawn shop! I absolutely love to cook so I have every kitchen gadget you can think of. Hot plate, crock pot, fryer, microwave. What do I need with a gas stove. HMM gas bill will not get paid this month. Besides, I'm beginning to like cold showers. And I thought I could never live without a cell phone. Well, I have no choice but to keep my internet on bcause classes are on line. While im online, I can text to cell phones and use the computer to call people. So the cell bill will not get paid this month. so far Im good with $600.00. Off to get my physical and immunizations taken care of. TTYL!!

awww.. hang in there! Looks like you're on the right track to cutting everything down to the minimum necessities. I'm trying to do that myself. It takes a lot of self-discipline. Kudos to you!!

That's so funny, I had your name on here and edited it to match the post above the one I posted. I have already taken nutrition and have taken everything I am able to up to this point. I will need to take additional classes just to maintain full time(12 hours) status, so I would like to find out which classes I can apply to a BSN either at UNF or FSCJ. There is no big rush, but if you can burn a copy, I would like to pick it up from you at orientation. I figured I would take stats during the spring term. My mom used to teach stats and has always told me it is one of the easiest math courses. Of course I'm sure some of her students would disagree with her!!!:lol2::lol2:

It was good meeting everybody, although I was a little late and it was hard to get around and introduce myself to all.

Hi Im!!!

i got my titers results and i was negative for mumps.

after we get a booster, do we just submit that we got the booster? we don't have to get another set of titers done or anything like that?

Yeah, I think you only have to show proof you got the booster.

The nursing admin called me and they did get my message that I accepted my seat & isn't sure why I didn't receive my orientation agenda letter, but told me what time to come to orientation. Is there anything else besides the time and place in the letter I should know about?

The letter just gave a breakdown of what items will be discussed throughout the day (financial aid, books, information on clinicals, etc). It was mostly just informational things so you can get a feel for what to expect that day.

Ok, thanks so much :)
