First of all thanks to all you who made suggestions about were I should live and places I should stay away from.I've hit a wall and am pretty frustrated. First of all It's next to impossible to talk to a live person at these human resourse departments. And then with the current nursing shortages to be told that they don't have any positions. One hospital even told me that they had filled all their openings with new grads. I've been doing this for almost 30 years now. Is it normal for the specialty areas like the ER to not have any openings. or is it just a bad time of year to be looking for a job?
Who told you they didn't have any openings in ER? They're lying. Every single hospital in this city has openings in ER, especially for experienced nurses. Period. And even if by some fluke, they are all hired up this week, give it a couple of weeks and there will be some openings. Have you considered prn or agency at the facility of your choice until a staff position opens up?

Want a job? Drop by California, North or South.
CraigB,Don't know if your interested, but have you tried Grady? They definately need help.
I'm an ER nurse. According to human resourses there is no openings in the ER. Has me confused. Not that it sounds like I want to work there anyway.
I interviewed at Peidmont and Northside. I'm hoping. I've got a line on a 13 week travel assignment in marrieta also. We'll see what happens.
