I got wait listed for class 116. Any experiences with being on a wait list would be helpful. Should I just give up?

I am sorry to hear that you got waitlisted. (That is my fear for 117). But I would not give up. I believe a spot will open up for you. I would keep in contact with the school to determine if a spot has opened, because I believe that being waitlisted also means that you can attend the next class cycle. Chin up, and good luck!

First off, sorry for the struggles we all know how you feel may we ask your background and gpa for personal comparison? my bsn was a 3.8, ive been a rn for 8 years level1 trauma and flight nursing...I applied for 119 fnp and am worried sick. I tried many state schools firdt but they avg my adn gpa in and that makes my gpa a 3.0

Stay on top of the wait list....I called back to find out if I had advanced and found out that I had moved DOWN 4 slots.
When I asked how this was possible, turns out that Frontier makes up the rules as it goes along and people that didn't turn in their admission packets for that class by the due date, decided to attend late or those that were accepted to the previous class decided to put off their admission for one class....only wait list I have ever seen where you can move down instead of up.
If you don't get pulled off the wait list, then it translates to a denial and you cannot reapply for 6 months.
So, be sure you have applications into other schools.
I had a near-perfect GPA, had been a nurse for several years, my entire experience was mother/baby/NICU. I personally know someone that had a GPA that was a 3.5 (far below mine) and had been a med-surg nurse (no women's health experience) for exactly one year and got accepted. How that happens I'll never know.
See my previous post...if you get waitlisted, you are not automatically offered admission to the next class. Apparently, admission to the next class is something that they pick and choose who they offer it to. I have seen people post where they were contacted by Frontier and asked if they wanted admission to a later class...I personally, was never given that option. I have seen people post that they were contacted and asked for additional information not included in their original application packet.
Like I said...they bend the rules, make up the rules, change the rules, etc.
I later applied to two other schools that were actually ranked much higher than Frontier...one was too expensive but I just wanted to see if I would actually get in...and I got into both of them.
So, who knows.
PS: If you are applying to the CNM program, the chances of you not getting in are slim to none...they are constantly trying to fill those slots. So if you meet the requirements, you'll get accepted.

I was also told that I am on the waiting list for FNP Class 116. I have been accepted to University of Cincinnati FNP program for Fall, 2013, so I am waiting to see how this will turn out. I hear different opinons which school has a better reputation. My BSN GPA is not high (3.24), but overall my GPA was about 3.5. I have 2 years of Med-Surg, 3 years of critical care, 2 years of wound, ostomy, and continence nursing experience. Most of my nursing experience has been as an Army Nurse, and I am currently a CWOCN and CFCN. I had excellent recommendation letters and strong essays. Few months ago, I was told that I had to submit a proof of "Health Assessment" class that I took when I was in nursing school, which was not on the application packet requirement. It took few months for them to approve. I thought it was odd. Then they said I had to move to another class (Class 116) even though I applied for class 115. I hope I get notified when I may get accepted to their FNP program from the waiting list.

Hello I also got wait listed for class 116. When I emailed them they said that wait list doesn't guarantee admission to the next class and that you don't need to reapply if on the wait list unless for some reason your not offered a spot. I know someone who got in a week before start. Hopefully I'll get in! GPA 3.9 and 14 years experience 8 of those in critical care. Not sure what I will do if I'm not accepted. Best wishes to you as well. Ill update any new info I receive.
I emailed and was told I was #7 I don't really know what the chances are. I can't really wait very long because I need financial aid and if I don't go to frontier I will go to a local brick and mortar I already have acceptance to. Just not sure what to do....
Perfect example...your stats are excellent. There was no reason why you shouldn't have been accepted right off the bat.
They didn't recognize my health assessment class and I ended up taking a masters level class through a local university and payed 2500 so hopefully that wasn't for nothing. My nursing assessment class was done in a LPN to RN program. I have asked where I was on the wait list but haven't heard back.
I accepted the list. They told me average 10-15 ppl decline admission and I'm number 7 on list. We shall see.
Correction. I read it wrong... 10-15 on the list. It varies how many decline.....
