I'm graduating May 8th and am going to buy the Kaplan qbank this weekend or next. I'm doing my practicum this week and next so I'm not sure how much studying I'll be doing with 4 straight 12's this week, and 4 days next week.
So I was wondering how long from the date of graduation you waited until you took the NCLEX? Also how long does it take once you send in the application to take the test to get a date to test?
Thanks in advance!!

I don't know either so I am going to bump you up a little in hopes someone will answer...I graduate the 9th. I sent in the application to test a week ago and am waiting for the go ahead to register. (I know it will take a lil while longer at least)

Depends on how quick the BON processes application and how quick your school sends in transcripts

I graduated March 19th and sat for my exam on April 20th. It's all going to depend on you and your study needs and style but I felt four weeks was plenty for me. In fact, I was getting so tired of studying I was so relieved my date came up so fast! But everyone will most likely tell you a different thing.
One thing I do recommend is making a chart for yourself to keep track- it helped me see how much I actually did because it can be so overwhelming studying for this crazy exam See attached for a generic version of what I used.
Also, please take the day before the exam OFF. Don't study, just relax, keep yourself out of the house and away from books. Best advice I got and it really helped! Good luck and be patient with yourself

Can you please pm me that attachment? I tried to open it but it didn't for some reason.

When it comes time to schedule your test, be realistic and give yourself enough time to prepare. You don't want to rush into it and then have to retest if you can help it by taking enough time to begin with. Good luck.
Never mind I got it to work...thanks!

Make sure to complete your fingerprints in advance-this can be a hold-up. From there, it's up to first your school (took 1 month for mine to SEND to BON), then the BON. Send in your paperwork to the BON before your school completes it's work (but wait until you graduate).
On average, our class took the NCLEX about 2 months after we graduated (school was slow!)...I just took my NCLEX two days ago, found out early results to be PASS! So, 4 months for me, but I got a nurse extern job right after I graduated, so I wasn't in a super hurry.
