Fresno State Nursing (BSN) Fall 2018

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone!

I didn't see any forums for Fresno State Fall 2018 and so I decided to create one myself.

I applied for Fresno State's program as a transfer for the upcoming fall semester.

Here are my stats:

Prereqs: All A's except one B (chem)

TEAS: 82%

Volunteer hours and some scribing hours

Anyone else applied and know when they will be getting back to us? Has anyone heard about last year's admissions? Thanks in advance!

Hi DAbuS2020,

I am currently debating on taking Anatomy next semester with Arla Hile. I am just really nervous and would like to know when you took anatomy at clovis community did she provided a study guide before tests and if she offered extra credit. Also for Lab would you recommend taking it with her aswell?

Thank you for your time in advance

I took Anatomy and Physiology at Clovis. I had Dr. Hile for Anatomy and Dr. Fallon for Physiology. Both simple teachers who aren't easy to please and very hard to fail their classes. I have a friend in my cohort that HIGHLY recommends Chooljian. Even though they are very hard, she said she was over prepared for pathophysiology and made this semester much easier for her.

@DAbuS2020 I wanted to know your opinion on my chances of getting into Fresno's nursing program! I have all A's in my pre-req courses but one B and that was in Anatomy and Physiology II. I also got an 82% on my first TEAS test. I have friends in the previous nursing cohorts that have said they've done worse than me and got in. I'm also not from the area so would that affect my chances of getting in? Currently I'm waitlisted for another college but Fresno is my number one choice!

I was accepted into the program with all As and 1 B. I got an 84 on the Teas. The Fall cycle is open to everyone, so you have just as much chance as everyone else. I'd say you have a pretty good chance :)

I personally loved Dr. Hile! She is so full of energy and makes lectures interesting. I don't remember her offering extra credit, but attendance is an absolute must, and was what saved my grade from a B to an A. For exams, I specifically remember that she had us draw a nephron and something else, but I can't remember. And she did give study guides. Also, during lectures she would make note of what was important to know for the exams.

Also, yes! Take her for lab as well! This way she can emphasize things from lecture in lab and vice versa.

Hope that helps!

Has anyone got their acceptance email?

Has anyone got their acceptance email?

Yes, just now. I was placed on the alternate list. :(

3.8 GPA (B in Physiology) and 82 on the TEAS. Anyone else?

How about you, did you get in? If so, congrats!!!!

I'm in the same boat as you.. alternatives list. 3.88 GPA, 82 on the TEAS

:( Hopefully we both make it in somehow.

If it's possible, what number on the alternatives list are you?

I called, they said they aren't allowed to tell us that information. I'm wondering if they will tell us how many people were put on the alternative list. Did you get accepted Jphan11?
