Fresno State Nursing (BSN) Fall 2018

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone!

I didn't see any forums for Fresno State Fall 2018 and so I decided to create one myself.

I applied for Fresno State's program as a transfer for the upcoming fall semester.

Here are my stats:

Prereqs: All A's except one B (chem)

TEAS: 82%

Volunteer hours and some scribing hours

Anyone else applied and know when they will be getting back to us? Has anyone heard about last year's admissions? Thanks in advance!

@klow7 hey congrats on applying. I am wondering did you do your pre-reqs at the local community college? (SCCCD). If so how did you list your lab on nursingcas?

I am applying as a second bachelor's;

Pre-reqs: 4.0

Teas: 94.7%

Volunteer medical scribe hours

I believe we won't hear anything til may. I have called the nursing school and they are not sure if they will be looking at just gpa and teas or if they will do the phase 1 and phase 2 process like they did last fall. Spring 2018 did not have to do interview or writing prompt, so we'll see what happens.

Hey! Congrats on applying too, you stats are incredible!

I did complete all my pre-reqs at SCCCD! I finished Fall 2017 so I have this whole spring off.

My friend and I also had trouble with filling out the lab portion on NursingCAS. For chem, anat, physiology, and micro my courses were all lecture and lab combined. So for the lab portion I just selected the option to not match any prerequisites. I thought u could leave it blank bc that's what it specifies to do, but doing so won't let you submit that section nor submit the final application itself.

I hope they keep it GPA and TEAS, the phase process scares me haha!

Thank you!

I see that on the home page in nursingcas they want you to add a lab and put "0" for the units and "CR" for the grade even though the lab is not listed separately. That part is confusing me and no one at the school of nursing seems to know what to do. Also did you add your volunteer experience on nursing cas?

Hello, I just applied for Fall 2018 at Fresno. They did not ask or let you tell them about your volunteer experience. I listed those labs with 0 and CR. Does anyone know if you have to send in your AP credits to them if you already got them awarded on Nursing CAS?

Thanks!

Hey Guys!

so glad there is finally a thread for Fall 2018 applicants! I also applied for Fall's term and have watched the nursing webinar offered by Fresno state. They are unsure if they are going to use the holistic review of our applications (this includes giving points for job in medical background, experience and points for sections in the TEAS) or if they will return to highest GPA. They should be figuring this out in a month or so. I also have all A's except one B in chemistry and an 81% on the TEAS exam. I'm hoping that my grades and exam score is high enough to get accepted!

From what I hear, we will find out if we are accepted into the program around June. Fingers crossed to everyone who applies!

@FutureNP3

There should have been a section that allowed you to input that information. I did remember reading that it is not necessary for you to include that information, however if they do use Hollistic review to choose applicants it can be useful to add that to your application.

@Klow7

I hope they keep it as highest GPA as well .. the TEAS score wouldn't matter as long as you achieved a 75%. However it is the writing exam and that process that makes me want to have a nervous breakdown. Lol

Hi guys, im also applying to the program. I'm applying with a 4.0 in prequesites and overall. And with a 78% on my Teas.

Awesome stats! Best wishes, hope we all get in!

Thank you, and good luck to everyone!

Hi

I am applying as a second bachelor's;

Pre-reqs: 4.0

Teas: 87.3%

Have been working at a hospital as clinical assistant.

Some of my pre-reqs are from Oklahoma, and I found this about the lab credits on FAQs;

Transcript Entry - Liaison International

Under lab credit, 'If your transcript lists labs separately, you must list them as separate courses on your application as well. Record the labs exactly as they appear on your transcript. If your transcript combines lab and lecture courses into one course, list it as one course on your application. '

I really do wish there is no writing,,

good luck to everyone!!
