Fresno City RN Applicants 23/24

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys, for those of you that had gotten selected before knowing your results in the previous lotto, was your evaluation status still pending or was it completed? I'm nervous because I applied for radiology and I was unselected because my application did not get evaluated and I'm scared that it will be the same for my RN program

For those who were unselected what are your future plans? Will you wait another year or apply to private? I am considering private as I would finish the same time as those who were selected Spring. Money is obviously a factor, but I'm willing to risk it knowing I'll work very hard to pay it off.

Well my first year of rejection I went to FCC's MA program to boost my GPA and get another AS. My second year of rejection I became a Medical Office Assistant (got the certification at FCC also) and worked with clinics to gain experience. My plan B this year is either getting a CNA certification or get a BS in Fresno State or UCM. Depends on finances. Will especially keep applying to the same public colleges. I checked out National University and Fresno Pacific College so I'll prob apply to those schools too if I'm unselected this year.

That's a great alternative. I might a BS at Fresno State as well I'll definantly look into it. What makes u choose National over Gurnick?

Today was supposed to show the results did anyone get there's because mine still stating pending.

Unfortunately that's just how it goes... I've been in these forums with Barbie1181 and I'm in the same boat as her. FCC changes the way the lottery is pulled every year and they don't care how many times we've been thru all this stress. FCC is the only feasible option for me as well yet year after year I see people get accepted on their first or second try and get into multiple programs but choose to take a seat at FCC. While there are ppl like Barbie1181 and myself that keep our fingers crossed for this ONE program. This is definitely my last year dealing with it because I'm not going to pay to take the new TEAS or retake prerequisites. I've already started a career path change that is going well.

I wish all of you guys just the best and good luck. Yes 5 times is a lot, I can imagine how hard was for you. I was applying in one private university I hope to get any news from them by end of April. I think is the best option, lottery is like a game, you don't know if you will win, but private is still chance to get selected, you pay and you know what you gonna get.

Im still iffy about National bc the rep was very uninformative. He told me the exact same things I saw online and couldn't answer most of my questions. Plus, you would have to take a medical statistics class before you can even apply to the program, and your chances are still pretty slim. The only thing separating National from Gurnick are the NCLEX pass rates. If I'm gonna pay $$$ for nursing, I want to make sure I'll be a nurse out of it. Im taking a risk with FPU too since they're brand new.

Guys but NAtional has high Tease reguairements at least 80 %, while Gurnick I don't think it is that much high. Is anyone knows How is Gurnick Tease requirem? I applyed to FPU, and  I would say for now FPU is my last chance for these year.

FPU has good rate as a University, yes RN program is new and their Tease test reguirem is 70%. I was speaking with one guy fron National he liked, and another girl from Gurnick she graduated she says she doesn' like it but at least she graduated and she was working as RN at the monet when I was speaking with her.

I agree, but I know many from Gurnick who passed the first time last cohort so I'm not sure if they update their stats frequently. I feel like you get what u put in and I feel like paying that money I'll do anything I can to pass ?

TEAS at Gurnick is 62% or higher. Tuition RN is 94k without pre - reqs but significantly goes down if you take them + financial aid if u get any.

Thanks, and any idea how many cohort has Gurnick in a year? I mean when next time I can apply to Gurnick ?

Just for those who will have a wish to apply to FPU, I would letting you guys know they want Nutrition class and another Chem class in addition to the Chem 3A which FCC has requirement. It means 2 additional classes need to pass to be able to apply to FPU.
