Hey guys, for those of you that had gotten selected before knowing your results in the previous lotto, was your evaluation status still pending or was it completed? I'm nervous because I applied for radiology and I was unselected because my application did not get evaluated and I'm scared that it will be the same for my RN program
Fresno City College - Spring 2024 Cohort! I just created a facebook Group for all questions/comments/etc everyone might have! Would be nice to go into this knowing a few people... here's the link ?

I studied harder and a couple months later I took my second attempt and got a 95.3%. I had already applied to schools with my 76% so I couldn't used my second attempt. I am hopeful to get into something next year. As I'm seeing many people get into programs with higher TEAS scores, I feel that is the key. Couldn't even get into fcc with near perfect GPA and decent TEAS now that their selection changed. Mid 70s TEAS is now considered too low. It is harder now with lotto with 1000s of people fighting for 100 seats instead of 200. It really sucks that the TEAS plays a major part aside from med experience.
With a 90+ you'll get in easily. The lowest score in my cohort was a 79. Mostly everyone had a TEAS score in the 80's.

Hey! Can you give an insight on how the schedule is like?
You'll have clinical every week. Sometimes you'll have two clinicals a week. 630am to 3-ish. You could have clinical any day, including weekends. They assign you your clinical days and sites. They will choose your theory schedule as well. You're basically at the schools mercy and whip for two years. You should get your schedule a few weeks before school.

This is why I have chosen not to reapply to FCC.

Schedule will be different for everyone, your schedule with also change throughout the semester, in March some classes end, your clinical also start. Clinical can be scheduled any day of the week even Saturdays. My biggest advice is take this time to enjoy yourself. Nursing school is definitely hard.If you really want to study, I would recommend studying Maslow's Hierarchy, electrolytes, cranial nerves, and med terminology. Also, learn your learning style. By that I mean do you learn better by visually seeing it, typing out your notes or writing them out. If you still need to take your PE classes take them during Summer if you can, or fall if you got in for Spring. I would also start saving up some money for the books/supplies. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I think my stats are decent but my TEAS definitely brings me down. When I first took the TEAS I was attempting to get into a private for LVN which all I needed was a 62% so didn't apply myself as I should have. I had no idea most nursing schools only allow 2 attempts to take it or I 100% would have done it differently but you live and you learn ig ??♀️ For the programs I applied to I've had a MCS of anywhere between 68-87 it really just depends on their grading rubric but I've learned that TEAS score really affects it heavily! Didn't really think I would get accepted anywhere this round until I fix my TEAS but I applied just in case for those schools that use the lottery heavily.
This is not true. I just talked to one of the advisors, and it even says it on the individuals who were unselected's status. Applications were not looked at unless the student was chosen from the lottery. Everyone was put in the lottery, and the only applications evaluated were the students whose names were drawn.
It was not based on merit. It was based on luck. The same applies to the other programs: Radiological Technology, Respiratory Care Practitioner, etc.

Hi! The admin on the chat stated the acceptable ways are making a facebook group or a premium account on here. Maybe a facebook group would be better! I don't know how to make one. But if you or anyone else from the Spring 24 cohort has made one post the link here so we can join!
