Hi, just to let y'all know that while COS puts your academic plan as RN, it does not mean you are in the program. I attend FCC and I'm used to FCC not putting student's academic plan as RN unless they are in the program. I thought it was strange at first too. Hope this helps.

This is why I have chosen not to reapply to FCC.

OK, so I got confirmation from my counselor that "unevaluated" means not selected or reviewed in detail to start the program. They also said you meet all the application criteria and have everything needed but just not chosen.

I didn't study any TEAS materials for AP science. I was taking physio at the time and I used my knowledge I learned from that class. I used smart edition academy to study reading and English. I had a free trial of nurse hub and used that to study bits of reading but mainly math on certain topics. Brandon craft TEAS math and smart edition is what I mainly used for math. Quizlet has Qbanks that are closely related to actual ones and I found those to be helpful as well. I searched and watched many YouTube videos about the TEAS and followed along people going over practice TEAS questions. I took as many practice test I could every day to keep information fresh in mind. I know everyone studied differently but this is how I studied.

I rushed and took my TEAS too early without studying reading and English. So I totally understand the feeling. I got a 76% as a result. I studied harder and a couple months later I took my second attempt and got a 95.3%. I had already applied to schools with my 76% so I couldn't used my second attempt. I am hopeful to get into something next year. As I'm seeing many people get into programs with higher TEAS scores, I feel that is the key. Couldn't even get into fcc with near perfect GPA and decent TEAS now that their selection changed. Mid 70s TEAS is now considered too low. It is harder now with lotto with 1000s of people fighting for 100 seats instead of 200. It really sucks that the TEAS plays a major part aside from med experience.

How long ago did you take the TEAS? FCC requires 90 days in between and other schools are less around 35-45ish. Taking your second attempt for a higher score would benefit. The next application opening is COS that I know for Spring 24 cohort. They will release their application May 1 to July 15. You would want to aim high 70s and up. 80s to be competitive. Points wise. Since you have a BS already, you could aim for a higher TEAS score so you can apply to Fresno state's Spring application. It's less competitive for Spring as it's only for state students and those with a BS.

What are your stats if you don't mind sharing? Are you able just to apply to BSN programs too?

Yes, they go through each application to make sure grades are correct and everything else on the application while at the same time collect points. This is what I was told because I specifically asked about my application because I left a box blanked and was worried I would get denied because a nurse counselor said if there was any boxes left blank we are immediately disqualified. My application was pending too until today, unevaluated because unselected for lotto. People who were picked either merit or lotto gets a full evaluation. If that makes sense. Our applications do get looked at because we need to meet requirements but as far as evaluations, it must be a different process.

About the TEAS score, yes you only need to have at least the cutoff score for the lotto but for the merit selection you are now competing with other people's TEAS score to get your spot in. My counselor looked at my 76 TEAS score with a cringe face and told me to take it again and aim in the high 80s. She says most likely people with 90s and up will most likely go to state or somewhere else.

Everyone gets evaluated for the lotto and merit. My counselor says they collect all the points and pick the top 100 for merit then everyone else gets put into the lotto draw. That's as much as I know. I can only assume the ones picked for merit had a full evaluation and that's why their status changed to evaluated. I'm not sure they would want to waste their time giving full evaluation for people who were not picked for the lotto.

With this new merit base selection, your grades only will not save you. Your TEAS overall score and the reading score on your TEAS is what will give you more points. That is an extra 10-15 points just for those points. I don't plan on applying to fcc next application but for others who plan to reapply, aim for a higher TEAS score. I know someone who got on the waitlist with a 78% TEAS score. You are only allowed to take TEAS test 2 times. When a new version comes out, your attempts restart. My points: 80 4.0 sci GPA, 3.9 overall, TEAS 76% / 2nd attempt 95.3%

If anyone wanna know the points accepted this application is... traditional: 73.8 - 85.8 year round: 69.5 - 82.5 I called the office and asked if 82.5 is competitive enough for Spring cycle and she let me know the points for fall cycle. Though people would like to know to for future references.

I'm out too. 4.0 Sci GPA, 3.9 overall, 76% TEAS, no health care certs or experience, no degree, total points 61.5, points too low. There was a lot of people applying for 20 seats. It definitely sucks getting my very first denial. I knew my points were low. But hitting next cycle with 82+ points. If I do CNA, it'll be more points. congrats to everyone who got in! ❤️ I'm happy for everyone!
