FREAKING OUT! NCLEX in 3 days!

I took my QT 7 today and I got a 58% which is shocking to me because I was never under the recommended 60% and now I am FREAKING OUT. The general consensus from people here is that QT 6 and 7 is the most important and it closely reflects the NCLEX so imagine my shock and disappointment when I got a 58%. So my question now is should I reschedule and study more or should I just go for it? I feel like I have been consistent with my other scores but this one is throwing me off. I don't know if it's telling me I'm not prepared enough. Any one with a similar experience? Any advice and insight would be greatly appreciated seeing that my exam is in 3 days.

your scores are really great! I am going re-test second time less than 3 weeks! My QBanks scores in Kaplan with 70% complete 62% and my Qtrainer been between high 50's and low 60% so your doing really great! I am sure the last Qtrainer because your drained or you feel very overwhelmed!! Remember to breathe and go for it take the NCLEX because your scores are great! First I failed because my scores were 40% I didn't know how to prioritize or answer the questions with high level critical thinking! Good luck and keep us updated!!

Hi momo11,

Our scores are very similar and I (like you) took Question Trainer 7 today and scored a 59.4 percent.

I'm also freaking out. Any confidence that I had after question trainer 6 (64.5%) disappeared when I took QT 7 today.

Based on all other scores, I was told to go take NCLEX, even with the low trainer 7 score.

Not sure if that helps at all, but at least you are not alone with a crazy score on 7.

Best of luck to us both!

Thanks for words of encouragement! I'm really hoping that is the case with being overwhelmed...265 is a lot of questions!! I hope I don't encounter that many questions again :(

Thank you and good luck to you, also! I was actually to skip taking QT 7 because I already felt good about my score but I figured why not. Now my confidence went down...I haven't really look around on the forum but is QT 7 the hardest one or something?

I think I'm just going to go ahead and take my scheduled exam. I don't think I should freak out over this last score.

Got some words of wisdom, I did all the same stuff to prepare for the Nclex as you have plus more (Sanders, Lippincott, Mosby, etc). Took the Nclex last week and none of it prepared me for the test. The test is soooo different than the practice questions. I am happy to say I passed, but if I had to do it again, no practice questions for me. Was a total waste of time

As far as 7. I heard that 6-7 are all passing level NCLEX questions, which would tell me harder than the others, but I don't know for sure.

I was holding on to QT 7 until a week prior, but all that trainer did was make me second guess myself.

Actually, I'm looking at question 140 right now. I have been looking at all of the questions (right and wrong) for over two hours now. Have you gone back to see your answers? Was there a place where you started getting a string of wrong answers? Did you take any breaks during that test?

Just some thoughts. I sat here and took the entire test with one bathroom break (Mistake #1. I think I went too fast since I had over an hour left (Mistake #2). I had strings of wrong answers right around question 50, which is probably when I needed a break. Ha Ha.

I suppose, these mistakes are all good learning lessons prior to taking NCLEX.

Please post here after you take your exam. We'll be rooting for you!!???

I have looked at my answers and I actually didn't take any breaks (which was probably a mistake). I just wanted to get the last Q trainer out of the way. I never answered that many questions at a time before so I don't know if I just got overwhelmed. I think I answered them too quickly without really reading the questions either because I ended up having about an hour and a half left on the clock. As I looked over my answers there were some I was actually thinking "DUH....HOW DID I GET THAT WRONG"...

I'll keep you posted. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. I'm really trying to get myself to think the scores don't really matter and to be confident with just what I know.

The scores dont matter but your scores are really good as far as kaplan. Good luck to u just take your time and read through everything. And take breaks, sitting through 265 is alot and if you get to that many on nclex you should break just to refocus yourself. I will be looking forward to hearing that you passed and goodluck again

Hey! Sorry I meant to post earlier but after taking my exam I waited 2 days for my result and didn't do the PVT since I heard it wasn't reliable. I PASSED! I AM SO HAPPY AND RELIEVED!

Thank you for checking up on me and good luck to you! :)
