Oh, yes. Wounds still make me uncomfortable, mostly because I imagine how it feels for the victim. And it took about 40-50 injections before true comfort was achieved. I practiced on my best friend in nursing school, and she on me, so that we would not mess up on a "real" patient.
wow,..that's, erm,..nice....i can never see myself and my best friend sticking needles on each other....that scene is actually a little amusing
Ohmigod, I thought this said homophobia! I was like no, never have been homophobic. Hemophobia.Never been that either!
lol...i was fearing that...in fact, i was contemplating putting "afraid of blood" instead of hemophobia...because i felt it's prolly gonna get misread..and apparently, it did.
at any rate, i guess maybe t's good i put hemophobia. catches people's eyes. lol.
This is an interesting topic...I've always been 100% comfortable seeing blood, vomit, wounds, etc, etc. But the one thing that grosses me out is SALIVA!! hahaha funny I know...Having to touch the end of a thermometer that was in someone's mouth, or you known when people lick their fingers when eating...it's too much for me to handle! I can't stand seeing the saliva on people! haha but I can deal with vomit or blood! :chuckle

are there any nurses out there that went into nursing eventhough you knew full well that you were a little hemophobic or couldnt exactly stomach lacerations, nasty wounds, and the like? are any of you still like that??
