Hi everyone hoping someone could help me, so l recently passed my Nclex RN in hawaii and returned the registration notice with the check for my licensure. Some friends told me that it could take few weeks or a month for the release, my question is what kind of license am l gonna expect because other state have cards or wall certificates? Does hawaii bon send notice form first before they send the actual license card (for example)?
I just renewed my NY license. Only got a new paper license. The wall certificate is in my nursing portfolio with all my other licenses and CE certificates. Employers only care about the paper license, as the wall certificate doesn't have an expiration date.
Does NY have online license verification? If so, how come employers are not using it for verification?
I'm not from Hawaii, but I did some googling and you're definitely getting a pocket card. There's an FAQ that appears to be about licenses in general (not just nurses) that refers to wall certificates, so you may get one of those, also.
We don't have any paper licenses in Oregon. No one even asks you for proof because by the time they offer you a job they've already checked you out on the OSBN website. I'm just waiting for AHA to do the same thing for BLS and HR will stop bugging me forever.

Yep, that was the old days. I have my original wall certificate around somewhere. WI stopped sending wallet cards a while back. If you want a wallet card you can print it yourself from the Dept of Regulation and Licensing website.
