Hi, i am schedules to takr NCLEX next year around June and I was wondering if someone is in the same predicement as me. I have seemed to forgot stuff from two semesters ago and that has me worried, It's very unrealistic to go back and re-learn all the material. What do you guys suggest? I have heard from people that NCLEX is mostly about test taking strategies rather than knowing the material, how true is this?

I don't think that's true. If I didn't have a grasp on the content, there is no way I would have passed NCLEX. It is about both content and knowing how to answer the questions IMO.

I'm sort of in the same situation. I took the NCLEX last July but I don't plan on retaking until sometime next year. I think I have already forgotten a few of the important things I learned a few months ago but I think it will be easier to understand again once I go back to my studying again. You will need knowledge of the core content, but then again you will never really know everything that will be on the NCLEX. I suggest Hurst review, it will help teach the core content you need to know and in a way that is easier to understand then if you were to read it in a book.

You need content knowledge and test taking skills. IMO waiting so long to test is really your biggest mistake here. Especially since you're talking about information learned in a language that is not your native tongue.
Oh i'm an american, english is my native tongue. I'd take the test earlier but i'm busy until next year and i'm testing in Florida where I am limited to 3 attempts before I have to take a class. So I don't want to waste my last attempt by taking it too early. I made that mistake twice now.
I was talking to OP 🙂

you're too busy for the next year to take the nclex? sometimes time is the enemy. The longer you wait, the more material you forget. Try taking a Kaan refresher course. You have to know Content AND test taking strategies. I'm about to take a Somalia test and I gave myself 3 months from the course date. I even feel that's too long to wait.

There are free nclex prep videos on Kahn Academy. Buy a nclex prep book divided by subject such as Saunders and use it to supplement information gained in class and preparation for exams.

Taking the NCLEX next June after you graduate in May is making much more sense. Good on you for thinking ahead and being prepared.
We usually don't get such a well thought out plan from a student posting here. We seem to attract the dullards as Slinkyhead noticed.
