hello evryone..

and maybe they could help me also.

mga pinoys and pinays...hope u could find time of sharing your stories here...

thank you...god bless..

hope you process your papers soon so that you can work here.. ask suzanne4 about it..it's a very tedious process but the rewards are great!!!

hi im a filipina nurse movin to USA early next year, i have taken all the exams in order to get an immigrant visa, im excited and anxious since this is my first foreign exposure.

godbless

hello filipino nurses..i need your help. am wondering if any of u went through the same dilemma i am going through right now in regards to the visa screen assessment. i am referring to my professional education. the thing is, before i earned my nursing degree, i attended several universities. according to ICHP, for each school attended (whether completed or not), request for academic records is required. i can understand that. however, the first and third universities i attended, they refused to issue me academic records, for they claim, "your transcripts had been forwarded to your nursing school." it is already not their responsibility to do that, but my nursing school...they said that. ganun ba talaga yon? i need to know if there's anyone of you here who was in the same situation as i am now (transferred from one uni to another).. did you really have to request for academic records for each school you attended whether NOT COMPLETED? for a fact i know all academic records are forwarded to the school last attended. if we look into the transcripts, they reflect previous subjects taken as well as history of schools attended. isn't that enough proof for evaluation? i'm sure familiar kayo sa systema natin dito, hirap talaga ko i-explain sa registrar kung para saan ang transcript..palagi akong sinasabihan bawal ang nirerequest ko dahil nag transfer na ko sa ibang school. will appreciate your input.

hi kyutnurse!!!

the hospital's name is good samaritan hospital in los angeles, ca. its a sign on bonus if ull stay with them under contract of 2 years..am still waiting if they would accept me..

[color=#00bfff]i want to try other states but my tita, who is based in la, wanted me and my family to be with them..its better to have a relative near you.thats what she says..

[color=#00bfff]i completed all the exams..i have my visa screen already..except for nclex...which ill take daw when im in ca already..

[color=#00bfff]god bless!!

[color=#00bfff]congratualtions to the new baby!!!

hi leah, i want to ask what hosp offered a 10 thousand bonus. is it because you have a good resume to back you up? i have been looking for an internship program in san francisco area, and none offered any kind of bonus yet. kaiser offered around 33.5/ hour as a basepay for new grads plus shift differentials and they are fixin to have 6% raise towards the end of this yr. there has been alot of sign on bonuses here in dallas around 3 thousand lang with a 1 yr contract after internship training is done. internship training is around 8-12 weeks with pay, you have to attend professional rn classes and competency in equipment and skills. some requires advance cardiac support classes. i think my classmate told me that they also do require new grads to attend computerized charting classes. please.... can somebody help me...because i think my confidence level just went to zero (on a scale of 0-10, the 10 is the most confident i would ever feel, and zero is i got no confidence at all). i will be fraduating next month (may 10) and recently found that i am preggy....so all my internships might have to be delayed, i dont think the recruiters would hire me once they find that i am pregnant. i'm currently in 14th week gestation....maybe i can just work in dialysis or something like that, and i will just go back to hospital setting later this year.

does anybody have any clue how much dialysis pays in south san francisco, daly city area?? can anybody recommend a good dialysis center there?? i am getting desperate. i am in the lvn to rn program and i will be taking the rn boards this june....thanks for the help.

ria

jb, hi i go to trinity valley, i attended the lvn to rn program. medical city of dallas have a really good benefits package, why dont you check it out, i think they start at around 18.5 or 19 yata...ewan, nde ko sure pero maganda and benefits plan nila.

regards.

you said that you have your visa screen certificate already, but that you did not take nclex. did you take cgfns exam? do you have the att letter form california board of nurisng? i hope that you do realize that if this hospital accepts you, the wait is 8 months just for processing your paperwork, then all of the actual immigration procedures begin. so you are looking at least at about one year. it is not going to be instant green card when they say yes.

hi i understand your confusion..im a fresh graduate here and unfortunately there is a shortage of nurses here! interestingly enough, there are thousands of nurses enrolling each year and if each nurse works here..it would be more than enough to cover the shortage being experienced here.

The problem lies here.. Most nurses want to go abroad because of the small salary they recieve there.. im lucky because im have a tourist visa and i can now process my papers here but for those who are in thr Philippines, they still have to wait a year or 2 just to get here and work and believe me its worth it

Being a nurse in the philippines is very ironic! you spend loads of money in you education but if you decide to work there..you won't be able to support your family..

i hope i had shed light on your querries..just email me if you have any more question? bye

Your papers do not get processed any faster by being on a tourist visa in the US, or if you are still currently back in the Philippines. The paperwork is still the same, the waiting period is still the same. No way around that. Saipan offers the NCLEX exam so those of you who need it are able to just fly over there and take it. You do not need a US visitor's visa to do so.

1. Just go ahead and submit your documents to CGFNS with what you have and enclose a letter about those two universities.

2. Please no tagalog when writing on this website...........everything should be in English because it is an open forum, and it is based in the US. I keep repeating this, and so do many others. If any of you feel that you need to write in your native language then please do so on a Filipino site. I don't mind helping any of you, but it is just rude...............Sorry :uhoh21:

of course i do ms.suzanne...u cannot earn a visa screen without passing the cgfns or nclex, right?..i passed the cgfns last september 10, 2003..the ielts last january 10, 2004 and i got my certificate and the visa screen march..magkasunod lng sila dumating...kya im wondering why others are complaining of long wait of approval from visa screen..i applied thru the internet...

i know its not an instant green card...but u know the feeling of being accepted from a foreign a hospital.. its already a big step for me!!..its like passing those exams..before , all i dream of is passing the cgfns...then the english...

every foreign nurse have their different versions of migrating to usa..one story is different from the other...

kaligayahan ko n khit papaano ma-accept ng hospital..eh ano if it would take months...or even years..wag mo namn ipamukha sa amin na ikaw lng ang nakaka-alam ng procedures...

sorry...

TO MY FELLOW FILIPINOS!

This is a website for all nurses from around the world. The thread also is an open forum where every body can just drop in, read and post their opinions. So, please, use English for everybody to understand. And be open to others who can share some ideas that would really help us.

Thanks Rep, my sentiments exactly..............Especially since I do not speak Tagalog.

hello ulit!

thanks for the support you guys, am just waiting for my ATT then I can take the board exam...I think all I can do is review and give it my best shot. I recently completed a preceptorship program at a local hospital and I was assigned at ED, it was really fun!!!

I recently started to feel occasional quickening in my tummy, and it's exciting.

hael, hi...thanks for the reply, before I was on my own, I also lived with some relatives, and hirap lang kase dun, pagkatapos ng work ko, pagod ka na...maglilinis ka pa ng bahay (wala nga kaseng helper dito) ang hirap naman i ignore...although they still expect you to pay living in their home, plus groceries and other utilities, kailangan rin mag contribute syempre. Learn how to drive, kailangan talaga kase. Learn to be independent and be financially responsible...that's what the expectations here....alam mo na, adopted lang tayo ng America.
