  1. That's great suzanne. Can you please add a sticky for foreign-RNs on the verge of going through job interviews. I have read tips on other thread but for the most part, they are solely suited for u.s. graduates. I know that job interviews in the U.S. are way way different than how it is done in other countries. And I'm sure there are common mistakes that foreign RNs do on interviews. Perhaps, just a general idea (some do's and don'ts...) Well.. Just a thought, suzanne. It would be great to see them on here. Thanks! Good luck.
  2. That is also the same question I have in mind. It seems there is, but I don't feel it though.
  3. thank you. i graduated nursing from the philippines and am in oahu for a vacation. any more help will be greatly appreciated:wink2: ps: i enabled my pm.
  4. thank you for your input, windwardoahurn. i wanted to send you pm but i couldn't. i am a foreign grad rn visiting oahu, and i am loving it here (definitely, one of the people who have unrealistic expectations (lol!). i was wondering if there are nursing opportunities available for foreign grad rns? amidst all the cons about living in hawaii, yes, i am still interested... your input is greatly appreciated.
  5. hi, chubbyann. sorry to hear about your dilemma. just for your info, i passed the IELTS in november and had the test results sent to ICHP by courier. then from the time they had received my test scores, it took 3 days to issue my visa screen. i'd suggest it would be best to give them a call. good luck!:)
  6. when i was a senior (not too long ago), i remember having to go through the same thing... conduct seminars and shoulder all expenses incurred. but as luck would have it, our group managed to find a speaker who was even willing to do it for free (and mind you, this person even has an impressive credential to boot). at the end of the seminar, we just decided to chip in a few extra cash for token of appreciation. there are others out there who are willing to do it for free. or if there are none, you can always ask for a discount (student rate).
  7. hi, landa. i have a friend who attended avondale and she is now working in the u.s. i heard good things about avondale, but am not sure about their nursing program. my friend said though, she thoroughly enjoyed her stay there. sorry can't be of more help.
  8. yes, words are not enough to express how thankful we are to have someone like suzanne on here.
  9. You need the TSE professional, I think:)
  10. Thanks for the first insightful input we've got, IseeU_rn :) Your top 5 reasons were hilarious:chuckle I totally agree with numbers 1 and 3 --- I see them happening.lol I'll keep the top 5 reasons in mind :rotfl: Any more input from others?

  12. hello. it is my first time to do phone interview; much less with a foreign recruiter. i really don't know what to expect and am very anxious here. can anyone fill me in on this--- what kind of questions they are usually asking; any expectations; do's and dont's, especially for a new-grad RN like myself who does not have much work experience. your input will be highly appreciated. thanks in advance
