Foreign grad

Published

Hi. I am a foreign grad going through the process of getting an RN license in the state of Illinois. I have submitted my application to IDFPR, and continental testing. I have also gotten my credentials evaluated by CGFNS, and ive done my fingerprinting. However, I still have not received the letter in mail telling me that I can test for the NCLEX. Am i missing something? when i go on the continental testing site to check the status, it says I need a report from CGFNS. I thought they would send the report to continental testing automatically. Do i send the report. Im confused on what am i missing? i've called the nursing board and they told me to call continental testing but no one picks up and ive left a voice mail. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance

CGFNS sends it electronically directly to IDFPR and Continental Testing should have it.

What I sent:

-4pages

- Money

-Fingerprints

-They already had my CES report and Toefl results

When they received it , I registered on Person and Like an hour later I got my ATT

I never got an email or a letter stating that I could register on PersonVue.

When was your CES report issued?

thanks you for replying...the CES report was issued Jan 2016. we have to register on pearson?

Yes you do. And pay the 200$ fee . Just make sure that CGFNS sent your report to the right BON, you can see it online.

Most people here recommand to wait to get OK from the BON before you register on Pearson but like I said I didn't.

Are you sure that your CES report is still available to IDFPR?!I think its only valid to them (IDFPR) for a year. You have to send it again, theres like a fee on CGFNS of 75$.

well IDFPR has not even processed the application so we cant be sure. My wife is not that fluent in english so I called IDFPR, and they said we can't tell you anything. Each person says different things. First time they said that when we receive your application the CES report will be attached to it. I also called CGFNS and the lady on the phone had no idea what she was doing. this is so frustrating.

also if we register at pearson, how long does the registration stay valid?

update: I just called the BON, and the lady on the phone said that they still have not gotten to her application and to call back after 2 weeks. She also said that my wife cannot take the test until they process the application. i didnt think that was true.

Hum maybe I'm missing something.

First, You said that on Continental testing website her CES report is missing. The report was issued more then a year ago. Did they received it or not?

Second, how did you send the 4 pages application. I did it overnight with a signature so I knew they have it. When CT gets your forms they send you an email.

sorry for being confusing. when i go on CT website and check application status, it says deficiency: CES report. thats how i assume that CT does not have the report. I filled the online application and submitted it to CT. Also when i called BON, they said that i will have to provide another CES report.

Is it true that until the BON processes the application, I cant take the exam? thank you again for all your help.

It's true.

By deficiency what do you mean? What does it States on the report that both education are comparable without any clinical/theory hours missing? If it's the case just go on CGFNS and send it again to IDFPR.

Hi guys I hope you were able to take or have passed the NCLEX.

Im so confused and stuck. So my cousin( US citizen) and I ( US permanent resident) had recently graduated with a BSN in the Philippines.

Hoever we have not taken the Local licensure exam ( NLE) mainly because a Filipino citizenship is a requirement to take the NLE.

Now we are back home in Chicago, does the IDFR/Continental Testing/ CGFNS require a license from the country of education?

Im really considering applying for a differnt state, this is so stressful.

no you do not need a license from another country. they ask if you have one or not but its not required. CGFNS will only need your transcripts and forms from your nursing school. good luck
