no you do not need a license from another country. they ask if you have one or not but its not required. CGFNS will only need your transcripts and forms from your nursing school. good luck

sorry for being confusing. when i go on CT website and check application status, it says deficiency: CES report. thats how i assume that CT does not have the report. I filled the online application and submitted it to CT. Also when i called BON, they said that i will have to provide another CES report. Is it true that until the BON processes the application, I cant take the exam? thank you again for all your help.

well IDFPR has not even processed the application so we cant be sure. My wife is not that fluent in english so I called IDFPR, and they said we can't tell you anything. Each person says different things. First time they said that when we receive your application the CES report will be attached to it. I also called CGFNS and the lady on the phone had no idea what she was doing. this is so frustrating. also if we register at pearson, how long does the registration stay valid? update: I just called the BON, and the lady on the phone said that they still have not gotten to her application and to call back after 2 weeks. She also said that my wife cannot take the test until they process the application. i didnt think that was true.

Foreign grad
Hi. I am a foreign grad going through the process of getting an RN license in the state of Illinois. I have submitted my application to IDFPR, and continental testing. I have also gotten my credentials evaluated by CGFNS, and ive done my fingerprinting. However, I still have not received the letter in mail telling me that I can test for the NCLEX. Am i missing something? when i go on the continental testing site to check the status, it says I need a report from CGFNS. I thought they would send the report to continental testing automatically. Do i send the report. Im confused on what am i missing? i've called the nursing board and they told me to call continental testing but no one picks up and ive left a voice mail. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance

New nurse in the USA
Hi. this is my first post on this site. I need some advice. My wife has done her GNM which is a Diploma in India. She will be coming to the USA on the basis of marriage so she will have her green card when she enters the States. I stumbled upon this site when searching for information about her eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN exam with only a Diploma from another country. I was going to get her transcripts evaluated via WES, but it says that CGFNS is what is used to evaluate credentials of international nurses. My question is can i make an account on my name on the CGFNS site or do i need to make it on my wife's name? Also i looked at the CGFNS site and it says for my state i need a CES, but it doesn't say if I need a CES Academic or CES Professional Report. Also is there anyone who is/was in the same shoes...can a GNM from India be allowed to take the NCLEX-RN exam in the USA? sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance
