Hello, I hope this post helps foreign educated nursing graduates and and foreign RNs in the future. About me: U.S. permanent resident(greencard) who is a BSN graduate from the Philippines in '16. Currently living in the NW suburbs of Illinois. Also, I have a cousin who graduated this year with BSN in the Philippines, and he is a US Citizen. In the Philippines for one to take the Nursing Licensure Exam, the applicant must be a filipino citizen. I've been hearing stories from a distant family friend that her nephew was able to take the NCLEX in Illinois even though he didn't have a foreign license, I don't know how he did it but I'm getting even thinking of applying at NY, NJ VA, TX if I don't find a way soon . So as of now I'm stuck and I may need to go back to the PH take the NLE. Any tips would be appreciated. I hope this post helps foreign educated nursing graduates and and foreign RNs in the future.
