Hi all,
I'm a foreign educated nurse and I passed NCLEX the first time last july 5. I'd like some advices on how to find a job in the US since I don't trust very much international recruiters...

You'll want to choose a state and look into their requirements. Every state is different. Beyond that, make sure that you're actually able to work in the USA. I'm no expert, though. Good luck!

Moved to the International Nursing forum
Start looking at hospitals in the areas you want to live and work and see what their requirements are
I believe the biggest problem is that I'm not a US resident. I still live abroad...

Do some research and choose a state where you would like to work. I moved to Florida a while ago but before I did, I applied for my nursing license through the Florida Board of Nursing and was then able to take the NCLEX. Being an international nurse, you will most likely have to go through CGFNS and obtain a visa. Also you might want to contact a reputable travel nursing agency like Cross Country TravCorps or American Mobile. Good luck!
Hi Sunshinegirly and thanks for your advice. I'll have a look at the agencies you are suggesting.

Go to Passport USa, Healthcarousel to assist you with Visascreen and employment. The hard part is the visa. Still in retrogression.Easiest way is Work visas but they need years of clinical experience.

Congrats. Passing NCLEX is a big step. The bigger hurdle is that you don't have a visa, from what you said. Until you have a way to immigrate to the US, there's little point looking for a job.

Hey all
I am in the same position
Passed NCLEX two months ago and now I don't know what to do sign up to an agency or direct hire
I would rather direct hire but I don't think many employers have the facilities to take an international candidate through the immigration process?
Does anyone know of hospitals in southern states which do direct hire?
Thank you
