Hi, im not sure if this is the right forum for this but I just want to ask those people who didnt pass the nclex, what kind of job can we apply to with our bachelor's degree. Ive tried applying as a nursing assistance or patient care technician in my area, but they require a certificate for that. I was thinking of taking ekg training or something just so I can get a job at a hospital. Any advice would be appreciated. thank you

Yes , you need trainer but the company will train you after that you need give a exam for CCHT

i wonder what hospital offer that training here in michigan... im dying to get a job anywhere. i must have applied at 50 different jobs since last week. craigslist. hospital websites .. everywhere. hopefully theyll call this week. really desperate

Check the free standing dialysis centers, you may have some questions raised if you have graduated from a nursing program but if it is an area you wish to practice (such as dialysis) a company may be willing to train you as a tech with the intent of hiring you once you are ready to re-sit your NCLEX-RN exam. (Some states do not permit LPN's to work in dialysis, I know you were considering sitting for the NCLEX-PN so that may be more of a hindrance than a help) Basically you need to sell yourself.

Free standing centers include Fresenius, and DaVita

Many hospitals outsource dialysis services to some of the major companies rather than offer in house training/services.

You can also consider challenging the CNA certification in your state.

If you trained in the US, try contacting your alma mater when you are ready for assistance in preparing for the NCLEX in the interim as you school has a vested interest in you passing the NCLEX-RN.

THank you for this information..I have checked the freesenius and davita websites. I cant find anywhere in there where they will give free trainings. I did apply on their PCT positions. Im gonna search for more dialysis centers here in Michigan and see if they offer free training.

I have been selling myself.I beefed up my resume, embellished it and everything and yet I still don't get a call or anything.I must have applied at all the hospitals in metro-detroit area.All the possible positions. Im still crossing my fingers and hope that one of them call me. At least give me an interview or something.

Their training is paid, btw. They also have a Facebook page strictly for recruitment too (I can't remember the exact name but it's easy to find in a search). Good luck!

I'm sorry I didn't mention that, it's on the job training so you are paid while learning as opposed to a class for no charge. The expectation is that you will "repay" the company by working for them.

You may have to explain why applying for an unlicensed position while being a graduate from a professional nursing program.

So just to clarify on both of your responses.. is the training paid or not? I dont mind paying the company back once i started working. As long i get trained and be stable at that job.

Im really getting desperate. Right now, Im waiting for my att for my nclexpn and job hunting at the same time.Im looking for a job just so that I would have a diversional activity. Ive been out of school for 2 years now and ever since Ive been reviewing and reviewing. I dont think I can go back to that same set up when my life is basically library-home, home- library.I need to get my mind busy and I really wish someone would just hire me.I even applied at malls and restaurants.

Should be paid training. Some community colleges offer classes you pay tuition for.

Remove your education from your résumé it may appear that you are an RN and that's why you aren't getting called for non-RN jobs additionally if they think u are waiting to get your NCLEX done they won't call you either.

Do this with caution it could be seen as deceptive. And if they later find out you failed to list your education it can backfire as a falsification of your information. Yes they may see nursing degree and ignore your application but that is where you sell yourself in your résumé summary or cover letter. The choice is yours. Make certain that it is clear that you are not yet a licensed nurse. Then again you may have the same issue if you earn your LPN yet list an RN education.

It's all murkey. Why would it be a problem to not list it? (Not being snarky) I've never had a background check show my education if so, I've lied a whole lot since I've never listed my first time through college when I was pursuing a double major in religion and English. Never finished, but its education I've still received, but again, I've never mentioned it. If its not relevant to the job, I don't get why it would matter?

He's may also hurt himself by saying "I have the degree but have t passed the test"
