Anyone else taking this?

Understanding Nutrition, 10th edition, by Whitney/Rolfes.

Our class is using the same here in Houston.

I'm also using the Understanding Nutrition, 10th ed. and taking it online. So far the teacher seems really nice (she has great reviews at ratemyprofessor.com) and although there's a chapter quiz every week, it's open book. This is my last prereq!

The textbook that I am using is: Nutrition: An Applied Approach, 2nd Custom Edition for Tulsa Community College, By Janice Thompson and Melinda Manore

We took our first test on Wednesday, she posted the grades today, my prof said, "I am very sad...". Well, I looked at my grade and I was disappointed an 87, then I saw the class average a 68.5. OUCH! That test was really hard- harder than I thought apparently. And I came out thinking it was hard.

Anyone else's class harder than they had thought?

i am taking nutrition this semester and i really love it so far. plus i lucked out with an awesome teacher

I'm considering taking nutrition this summer. Thing is, I'll be taking organic chem, too. Some I'm trying to figure out about how much studying nutrition requires. It's not a light-weight class, is it? But yet it's not like A&P either, right?

i think the class is pretty easy. im taking a&p with it and 4 other classes. im doing good, i just listen to the teacher and read. i think the class is more interesting, and learn alot of cool things, then it is hard

I read all the ratemyprofessors.com reviews of my class, and they all made my instructor sound awful - and we only have one choice. Just goes to show you how subjective those can be! I think our professor is great! The class is 8:30-11:30 on Tuesday mornings, and she actually holds my attention the whole time. She uses powerpoint, but gives her own lecture instead of reading it to us. I may come back and edit this once we have our first test on Tuesday, but it doesn't seem like it should be that hard. Our class isn't heavily chemistry based, and all we are graded on is three multiple choice tests.

I've found that most of the people that use ratemyprofessor.com are people that were dissatisfied with their grade, and decided to take it out on the teacher by saying they suck. I went to the site and checked out my professors for this semester, and although I think they are all great, most of the ratings were fair-poor.

Yeah, now that I've found that site I try to review all my professors, good or bad, just because it's nice to have any extra info out there. I might as well give back what I can and try to make it well rounded.

The nutrition class I took didn't take a lot of effort to get an A. The lectures were interesting as was the book. Seriously, one of the easiest As to receive. Organic chemistry...you gotta work in that class!!! Nutrition with organic is very doable. You'll be thanking your lucky stars to have at least one easy class with a high demanding one.

Although I received a 97% on my Micro Test, I received an 81% on my first Nutrition test. :( This was due to me neglecting this class. This will not happen again LOL. Good luck to everybody. I have a test first thing as soon as Spring Break is over.

For those of you that are taking your nutrition class online, would you mind sharing with me who you are taking it through? Also, what is your experience?

Thanks!
