Anyone here went to or currently in the United States University family nurse practitioner program?

Yes, I am currently in the program, about to finish my first class MSN 560. It's not bad at all and very doable. Let me know if u have any questions!

Is it 100% asynchronous materials or do you have to meet once a week for live class? I'm currently in another online FNP program that's all the way in the East Coast and considering the move because USU is FAR more affordable and in the same time zone as me. Any suggestion is appreciated ?

Currently, there is no requirement to meet for a live class. Everything is done independently and contact with professors/administrators is via email or phone. I currently have 2 RN jobs, one FT and one PT and I would say this FNP program is definitely do-able since it's only required to take one class at a time until your 2nd year. I also chose USU because of how affordable it is. And clinicals start at the end of the 1st year I believe

I am used to focusing on one class at a time too because that's how my BSN was. My current FNP program is not like that and I'm finding it challenging plus we have to meet once a week per class. Just trying to figure out what's best. I appreciate your reply! Thank you so much :)

Yes, I’m currently in their program and about to enter my third class MSN 563! So far the program is great, and all teachers have been awesome! Very nice school to attend also very affordable and also accredited! Already bought my FNP certification review book to start reviewing early for the upcoming classes! So far it’s wonderful! ☺️

Thank you Alina! It's great knowing how the instructors and staff are. What software does the school use for proctoring their exams?

Hello! I am highly considering United States University for my FNP program! Did you have to find your own clinical sites? (I am Out-of-state)

I just did orientation for USU and yes you have to find your own preceptors and sites.

Thank you for your response!! If you don’t mind me asking, what were your specific reasons for ultimately deciding to go with USU?

I picked USU to transfer from my current FNP program mainly because it's on the Board of Registered Nursing of CA list of approval. The current program that I am in, the school is out of MA and it is possible that I have to take more classes after spending close to $70k ... I'm just not going to do that to be honest. The other reason is also affordability and the last reason is I like the due dates and times according to my time zone. I've had group projects and we're all in three different time zones plus each of us are also at different course of our programs (I'm still in the beginning stage and one of my groupmates is doing his clinicals). That can make group work challenging. I'm not saying I won't have that challenge as well in USU because the cost outweighs the group work LOL. So far, my dealings with USU has been good because we're both are keeping our lines of communications open.
