FNP Graduate from Chamberlain College of Nursing Dec 2015

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

I'm a family nurse practitioner and graduated from Chamberlain College of Nursing's FNP program as of December 2015.

Lately I have been getting a lot of questions from nurses either looking to start Chamberlains FNP program or who are in the program.

I decided that I would create a blog to address these questions. Feel free to ask me anything about Chamberlain's FNP program.

RN-BSN 2011,

I would contact chamberlain to see if they have a learning center that reviews research papers as I'm not sure if they have one for the MSN program. I would also follow SopranoKris advice reply. Chamberlain does use "turn it in" to see how much of your paper is plagiarized but it does not critique how well you have written. Unfortunately I do no know anyone in the MSN education program. I'm sorry, I wish I could be more helpful.

FDM1220,

That's great you started at Chamberlain! I graduated chamberlain December 2015 and love being a family nurse practitioner. I have learned so much in the past 7 months of working full time. It is def. an adjustment from being a RN (where you do not make any medical decisions) but I love having the autonomy and caring for my patients the way I feel they should be treated. At first it was a huge responsibility and I did not feel very confident about my medical decisions but with time I have seen my confidence grow as I have become more knowledgeable and skilled. I can equate starting as a FNP like starting out as a RN. School only prepares you so much and your real skills and knowledge come from experience and practice.

bimpeadebayo,

I'm sorry but the only way to contact me is through this site.

Haze03,

I appreciate your feedback. I think that advanced patho and epidemiology is doable. I know someone in the program currently who finished epidemiology and was asking for advice about class materials and they have changed that course a lot from when I first took it. Although from what she said the class was easy. You still have to write several papers with the last paper about an evaluation of an epidemiological problem- a disease or health population chosen. You also have to do a relative risk calculation worksheet.

Some classes let you see all the material during preview week and others only let you see one week. I liked when the material was all up front because I would crack down and try to do all 8 weeks of work during preview week. (I realize this is crazy lol). This was especially nice when I doubled up on classes because one class would be finished and then I would have time to focus on the other.

Hello, I am starting the FNP program at the end of February this year. It's been awhile since I have written any papers, so I know I am rusty on APA format. Does Chamberlain provide any help for this or suggest resources?

FNPCC2019,

The first class at Chamberlain they go over APA as well as require an APA format book you can purchase to help you. All the scholarly articles available at the chamberlain library have a link that will put the information for you into APA format so you just can copy and past that into the reference sections for all your papers and discussion boards. I also recommend using Purdue owl at Purdue OWL: APA Formatting and Style Guide to help you with APA format if you need it.

Hi ,

I am interested in starting the program in may this year and would love to hear any good advice. Can I get access to your blog ?

Thanks

@amiyadeh

ARe you working in CT as an NP? any recommendations for clinical sites?

I have a question, I am starting Chamberlain FNP in August 2017.

Does Chamberlain have pre-recorded lectures to watch? I learn best by watching lectures and taking notes.

Any information is appreciated! Thank you!

Hello momernurse. I started at chamberlain today and I'm lookinf for advice on being successful in the online setting for the FNP track. I completed my BSN at chamberlain which was'nt that hard but I see alot is required at the master's level. What information can you provide that'll be beneficial? Thanks in Advance!
