I'm a family nurse practitioner and graduated from Chamberlain College of Nursing's FNP program as of December 2015.
Lately I have been getting a lot of questions from nurses either looking to start Chamberlains FNP program or who are in the program.
I decided that I would create a blog to address these questions. Feel free to ask me anything about Chamberlain's FNP program.
I have been researching CCN FNP and from talking with friends in other programs I am left with a few questions about the program. I have friends in other FNP programs that require tests be taken at a specific date and time while being video and audio recorded and if the system alarms its shuts down the test, is this the same for Chamberlain? I would imagine that would be incredibly stressful. At conference a few years ago a colleague said she was able to retake quizzes and tests twice and the best score was used for grading purposes?
My last question is about NR508 Pharmacology, how are the topics broken down? 8 weeks for advanced pharm seems really fast paced!
Thank you for your help!
Hello! I'm currently in the last few weeks of Capstone and I was worried about the FNP exit exam. The modules provided to us have been really helpful but I was wondering if there are any other ways to prepare for the exit exam. Also, are doing the questions from the APEA qbank and reviewing the modules from Amelie's workshop enough to pass the exam? I guess what I'm worried about is not really knowing how to prepare for it. I've been doing the questions from the APEA qbank and have also been studying the slides from the modules but I worry that it might not be enough. I just don't want to have made it all the way to the end of this program and not be successful in graduating because of the exit exam. Any helpful hints and words of wisdom are much appreciated. Thanks
Hello Everyone! I am new to allnurses and hope I can get some information. For those of you who are more than half way done with the MSN-FNP at Chamberlain, how did you secure your preceptors? Were the Practicum coordinators helpful in setting up preceptors? Lastly, Has anyone here used paid preceptor services such as Preceptorlink or NPCR. I am planning to do my MSN-FNP online and have considered using a paid service to save me the headache of having to find my own. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
